Well I am sure you realize we loose about 100 hairs a day which is normal. If you are concerned you should check with your physician to see if they recommend an iron supplement, don't take it on your own because too much iron is harmul. Excellent sources of iron:

Clams
Pork Liver
Oysters
Chicken Liver
Mussels
Beef Liver

Good sources:

Beef
Shrimp
Sardines
Turkey
Canned Beans

Try to reduce your stress that can contribute to the hair loss by exercise, doing something relaxing like reading a book, spending time with your pet.

Too much conditioner is terrible for your hair. This could be the problem. If it is not your imagination in overdrive, then tell your Mom or whomever to take you to the Doctor and get a real opinion. It sounds like a nutrition issue, do you have a eating disorder? Anorexia and Bulimia are causes of fall out, it is your bodies way of saying, I need food to live, and you are killing me. I hope this not the problem, whichever way, do something and good luck

Like what most others have said, it could be due to stress... But your hair actually takes 3 months to catch up with you - as in whatever happened 3 months ago could be why.....

to help it, be careful when brushing... try to not brush while its wet, as this damaged your hair much more. also try a de-tangling spray to help get knots out, so keep brushing to a minimum...

Try a vitamin that promotes stronger healthier hair.

With your hair getting thinner, if you are really worried about it you could see you dr. But as you are only 15 chances are its jsut part of your body changing. When i was 15 I had a similar issue - my hair usedto be dead straight ,then all of a sudden it went curly, and still is (luckily my hair didnt thin out tho - i have thin hair as it is!!)

Good luck!

I don't mean to scare you, but this could be something serious. People that have thyroid problems will lose hair like that. Also if you are extremely athletic and not eating enough(or anorexic) this can happen. Talk to your parents or school nurse about it. I don't think its an iron deficiency but Iron is in spinach, liver etc. You can also take iron pills. Is period normal? You don'thave to answer that on here, but if its not it could be part of whats going on(like if you are very active).

you need to have a complete hormone workup as well as blood count and thyroid panel to rule out internal causes.Diet alone is not enough u need to take supplements.

1.) Seaweeds, help stimulate the thyroid and give minerals for the proper health of the hair

2.) Spinach is great for the hair, contains lots of minerals,as are all the green vegetables.

3.) Protein your hair is made of protein so make sure you are getting it in either animal or vegetable form such as fish,chicken,beef,legumes,nuts... and cheese.Or protein drinks.

4.) take a good b-vitamin supplement with biotin which increases hair growth.

5.)MSM contains naturally occuring sulfer and will make your hair and nails grow faster.

6.) silica

this combined with a good scalp massage with herbal hair oil will do wonders for your hair. Avoid brushing ur hair when its wet,and use a natural shampoo such as lamas chinese stimulating shampoo or Jason thin to thick.

stress is definitely a factor and drink water..also if you want foods with iron, brocolli rabe is great for that and kale. I think spinach also has iron in it. I have the same problem..Also, you have to make sure your scalp stayed greased. Maybe just part your hair every night and spray some oil sheen right on the root..

stress, poor diet, weight loss etc can make yur hair fall out. i had surgery a year or so ago where i lost 10 pounds (with in a week) in the hospital because i couldnt hold food down, i lost so much hair because of that, only now im starting to notice it getting back to its usual thickness.

also you can just take an iron pill that they sell in the drug store instead of eating all that weird food listed above.

Hey! I'm 13 and i've been experiencing some hair loss in the shower too! Don't worry about it. It's annoying, i know, but here are some tips from me (experience)
~don't brush your hair when it's wet! That really damages hair.
~eat some protien. Cheese, meat, etc.
~Exercise is best for rejuvenating hair. it replenishes the natural oils in your hair
~good luck!

I had the same problem and stress can cause your hair to fall out, but also using to much conditioner will make your hair fall out. Brushing your hair while wet does ,so make sure to use a comb
