My fiance and I went shopping for engagement rings yesterday and we found a store called Crescent Jewelers. They were having a ginormous sale so we decided to browse and check out what they had.

I ended up finding an Engagement/Wedding ring set that was absolutely gorgeous.

It normally sells for $6,000.00 but after discount it came out to $1,800.00 (this is before taxes and everything else).

On the GGL card that came with the faberge egg it says:
Date: July 6, 2006
Shape: Round Brilliant
Weight: 1.00 Carat T.W.
Color: E-F (Colorless)
Clarity: SI1-SI2
Polish/Symmetry: Very Good

The rings are 18k white gold, 2 ring bridal set.

My two girl friends who saw the ring said that I got lucky and got a really good ring.

I want to know, if the above specs prove that I ended up with a good ring, or was the price inflated?

I have been engaged for over a year now but had been wearing a temporary ring that my fiance got so he could propose. Now I have the actual rin

A whole carat for $1600 is a great deal. The clarity is what really makes a diamond but I'm not sure how the ratings on that go.

As I found out when I went out and got mine a couple weeks ago after my gf saw it and couldn't stop talking about it, if you love it and you think you got a good deal than that is all that matters.

By the way, I think you got a great deal. And this comes from actually being in your shoes and looking at stuff myself.

The clarity and colour of the stone is a little ordinary and i would suggest that the initial price was inflated....however and im assuming we are talking AUD not US $1800 AUD is still cheap $1800 US well you could do alot better here in australia....

The price is quite alight for a 1 carat size la...if u get 1pc of "stone" by itself....

In term of the quantity is not a very "good" 1.... cos the:

Color: E-F (Colorless) = they did not state actual color, n wat they mean by colorless? There is no such description loa. D is of course the best color, fellow by E,F,G,H.....to the worst I, J & K

Clarity : Si1-Si2 = the best is VVS1 not those tat start with "Si"

Buying diamonds are like buying a house, the market value is what it is and good quality diamonds don't sell for discount. Your diamond set seems to good to be true. It's possible you got ripped of the "quality" of your diamond.

If you love it, then I'm sure it's a good deal. I don't know how big the diamond is, but it sounds like a good deal.

Congradulations on a good find! As long as you love it, that is what truly matters anyhow. After all, you will be wearing it for the rest of your life!
