Honestly I think that is not a wrong question, I guess people do it because they are sinful, to put it simply. I know what you are talking about, I've seen people in my own church do that, and it breaks my heart but if you are connecting with God really well and you can hear his voice clearly, then you'll be able to resist doing that. I wish these people cared to stay in touch with God enough so they wouldn't fall into that sin, but then again I fall into other sins sometimes, so I can't say that I'm any better than they are.

Jesus spoke about corruption in the church on several occasions in the bible. True followers of Jesus will stay away from playing God and judging others...Many don't but that is life. The bible says Satan has deceived us all. Hypocrisy occurs in the church, and everywhere else. Until the reign of evil is over we should just try to accept others. We need to remember we don't know the true heart of the fellow man, and we all are made imperfect, so who are we to judge?
I understand it is very annoying and hard to understand, but keep in mind we all have fallen short.
Just because people go to church that doesn't mean they are suppose to be perfect.

You have to realize that not all people are like that obviously. there are simply good and bad in all walks and professions of life. If you are at that kind of church then change churches. There are enough of them for you to find a good one with a decent pastor, minister or better parishioners or whatever. Also what really matters is not what others do, but rather what you do. Your relationship with God is a personal one. That is where your focus should be. You cannot control or change other people. I just ignore them. Remember no one is perfect including you and me too.

It isn't everyone and if your pastor is doing it confront him and get out. Other Christians have an obligation to confront those who are sinning like this. It's not judging, it is trying to bring one who is going the wrong way back to Christ.
I will be praying that you find the church you need. And that those who are leading this church come around or lose their jobs.

When I preach ..the first thing I state is that we are all sinners. What would that mean to You? What would you confess?

you shouldn't focus your attention on people, they will always let you down. they are human and make mistakes. what they do (or don't do) will not get you into heaven. Follow Christ, not humans.

They like the way it feels I think. They surely don't do it for god. They do it for themselves. HIPPOCRITS....there are so many of them it is sick.
