Girl, this is a tough one, especially if your hair is not silky already. I have hair that is somewhat coarse.
I like to use BioSilk, which you can actually find at Target for around $11 for the smaller bottle (2.26 fl oz), which will last you several months (I'm talking at least 18 months).
Bumble & Bumble also has a just over 2 oz bottle of DeFrizz that is slightly thicker, and better if your hair is coarser. I cannot recall how much I paid for that, but try www.sephora.com for pricing. You can find that at any salon you pass anywhere.
Either way, you only use a tiny bit, and make sure to start at your ends or your hair will lose body. I like the BioSilk for separating pieces to give more of a bedhead look.
And the other big thing: the hotter the straightener, the silkier it will be. When your current straightener conks out on you, go buy a salon professional one. It'll cost you an arm and a leg, but it will be worth it and may well last you the rest of your life.
Good luck!

You can use Frizz Ease or a less expensive and as effective Hask Pure Shine Frizz Remedy. See your chemist.
