I have a 10 year old daughter with this painful disease.

I was wondering if anyone else has had anything to do with it or maybe any advice?

I am a teacher and have had a few students with it. One of the easiest suggestions would be those pillows or compresses that you can microwave and have some sort of mineral beads or some such inside. They hold heat and help to soothe pain, especially on cold days, or when writing. The last student I had used thses when taking the long standardized tests mandated by the Bush administration's NCLB act, and they helped him a lot. Try to get one, and then if they are helpful, meet with your child's teachers to make sure the use of these are listed in an IEP or 504 plan so they will be used as needed, especially in the testing. You can also look into having someone be a verbatim recorder for your child during these large tests.

There are several patient/parent support groups out there. Try searching the web for them. Other parents also dealing with this disease would be your best source of support and information. Also, if your daughter is seeing a rhemuatologist ask him/her is they know of any local support groups.

get her off milk. dont listen to the sh*t they tell you on tv. docters are PAID to tell you that milk is good for you. its actually really bad. i would explain it but im to lazy. so go to this site and look arround. its about a diet that has cured other diseases like chrons disease, obesity, and acne. im not sure if it will cure your daughters disease, but it will definatly help!
