I'm not exactly. I know you would have to take some classes either in a group or with a priest, probably to explain how Catholicism is different to others. Eventually, you would have to profess the Creed in front of a priest, be baptized if you haven't been, and probably receive First Communion and Confirmation because you are an adult at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter. All of those teaching would be done at the same time rather than spread out like it is for a child. I am sure you are aware that you wouldn't have to "put aside the bible" and the sacrament, though they may have come later, have a base in the bible. Are you thinking of converting? Why?

All these answers are sooo funny. The Catholic church is just like any other Christian church. EXCEPT it is not as long (doesn't take up your whole day) AND you don't have to recruit people like many other churches out there. LOL. I have nothing against Christian churches. Because, we believe in the same thing, but almost all my Christian friends are always trying to get me to join their church so we can go to functions or church groups or something. They are sweet to offer but i'm very happy being Catholic.
I NEVER have to give money unless i want to, I am never in church for more than an hour unless i want to, I don't have to hang out with only other Catholics and it is not a social event. Going to mass is a holy event, you are witnessing the eucharist and receiving Christ in the communion.
I would never want to leave the Catholic church because it is so relaxed and kick-back. No one has ever told me what to believe or how to believe it. In fact, my thoughts and views do stray from the Bible, I am human. But our priest welcomes questions and debates. It's so cool.
You just have to take RCIA (some night classes) but you can walk into any Catholic church and will feel welcomed and you can just stay and pray and watch until you decide to join.
:) Take care.

People who choose to convert to Catholicism from another faith(whether or not they are Christian), must first take the RCIA programme.
RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initian of Adults. It starts in September, & it teaches those who are interested in the Catholic faith, all that the Church teaches.
The RCIA programme concludes during the Easter Vigil Mass, where the candidate receives Baptism, & their First Communion(they are later Confirmed during Pentecost).

When someone is interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, they contact their local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.
Then they can go and ask any questions they want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but they can stop at any time.
There is no obligation to become a Catholic.
With love and prayers in Christ.

You have to expect wisecrack answers on YA, goes with the territory. you will have to go through RCIA, which teaches you about Catholicism. You get your theology right from the start, and while I'm not Catholic myself, I have nothing against RC faith. I think you'll enjoy the class. May God bless you.

One needs to put the Bible aside. One needs to not fully trust in Jesus Christ and base their salvation on works. One needs to worship mere men as infalliable. One needs to believe a human man is necessary for forgiveness of sins. One needs to deny the bloody and power hungery history.
This is a start. Check out, A Woman Rides the Beast by Dave Hunt.
