I have had Absinthe and it is awesome. Can't say that I saw the green fairy, but it did lead to a very pleasing buzz.

As per the attached article, it is legal in some places, including Japan where I live. It has a full, very herb-y bouquet, is intensely flavored, very strong in alcohol content, and bitter but not overwhelmingly so.

Generally speaking, the Czech absinths are generally considered not as good. Please refer to the second site listed in the sources for recommendations.

It is common to drink it with sugar, but I usually drink it straight.

It tastes about the same as the last question about it a page or so ago.

It tastes like anise with a complex herbal flavor underneath. Unless it is fake absinth, sometimes called "bohemian style", which has been described as tasting like cleaning fluid.

It is not illegal to own but is against regulations to import. It isn't hallucinogenic, nor has it been banned for 300 years, or any other stuff people here post about it.

I would suggest reading the two source links, the second includes ratings on a number of brands. Peoples opinions vary, some view the Jade brands as the best, others think they are over hyped.

I rather have and generic element i'm going to assist you be responsive to is the myth approximately it inflicting hallucinations is only that....a fantasy! the only one that honestly does reason hallucinations is the right stuff from Amsterdam it is unlawful everywhere else. The hallucinations are led to via using an ingrediant referred to as Wormwood and regardless of the reality that maximum absinthes will say on the bottle "includes Wormwood" it is an extremely small dose so it gets you incredibly under the impression of alcohol yet not reason hallucinations. On this is own it isn't the nicest tasting spirit, having an extremely sturdy aniseed (licorice) style to it. the classic thank you to drink absinthe is to soften sugar in an absinthe spoon and drop the sugar into the absinthe and drink. in spite of the shown fact that i detect it is going down nicely if mixed with apple juice, it additionally turns the apple juice a funky aqua shade! relish!

Its legal to purchase absinthe online and have it shipped to you if you live in the US, and it is legal to own it. However, it is illegal to sell absinthe in the US. The ones I have tried were in the mid-price range and have almost a licorice taste, but it definitely is an acquired taste. The best way to drink it is to dissolve a sugar cube with cold water. The better quality absinthe usually comes with the absinthe spoon for doing this. You can also caramelize the sugar cube by lighting it on fire and letting it dissolve in the absinthe.

It has an herbal/anise/licorice flavor..... You dissolve a sugar cube into it before drinking and cut it with water. This is called louching which the absinthe will turn sort of a milky white color. I haven't tried too many that are available online.... a friend USED TO distill it... it pretty much knocks you out and does not make you hallucinate contrary to popular belief. At least the absinthe that I had didn't. Stick with booze my friend.... cheaper, less legal stuff to deal with and is available everywhere!!

Absinthe is a drink I tryed years ago. I don't exactly recall the taste but it is unique and very good as I recall. Absinthe is made by French Monks and in the past it contained wormwood and mild hallucinogenic that has been illegal for at least 300 years.

i like the guy who asks why people wanna screw up thier brain. It's an escape. It's an expierance. Alot of stupid people do stupid drugs. But alot of smart, even brilliant people take drugs. Absinthe was a huge source of inspiration for alot of realist painters. Thats what I think of it. You can have it mailed to you from europe. There is a trick to it i think. Dont knock it before you try it.

Hello. Real absinthe is poison so anyone who says fthey've tried it is lying or stupid and lucky.
There's a detailed exploraton of absinthe in the Messages at my Yahoo! group. Just put in the Message search box after joining. It's an old email between me and another editor of http://www.humdingerzine.com
I believe absinthe is discussed in detail at www.gumbopages.com.
Thanks for asking.
