if you dont have a surround system hooked up and are going to use the speakers from your tv , goto menu and then enter the audio setup and be sure the speaker selection is on. if you have a surround system hooked up besure the audio jacks are hooked to the correct imput on the receiver and they are connected so it has the audio out coming from your cable/satillete box to the audio in on the receiver. be sure your receiver is setup correctly with the source buttons on the receiver such as when it is set for tv it runs the sound to the tv not to the dvd etc. the back of the receiver will have the different sources listed so you can plug the wires into the correct connections . all connections should be in the audio in because you receive the signal from your devices to the receiver and it sends that audio signal through your speakers. easy way to remember audio source out from device (audio out jacks ) goes into receiver ( audio in jacks on receiver ) sound goes out through the speaker wires in the room. if all is connected correctly check to be sure the speaker wires are hooked up matching the positive to positive wire from receiver to speaker and that negitive to negative is the same , if the wires are crossed it will not damage but they will not receive signal. if you need help and installed yourself call a tech from circuit city or best buy they will charge but will fix your problem

has it not had sound since it was installed? Did you get the user guide to look at the trouble shooting section usually found toward the back of the book and do you have it on mute?
