THEY SAY ME THAT the COLOR OF a UNIFORM IS DIFFERENT IF IS a DIFFERENT WAR, FOR EXAMPLE THAT the UNIFORM THAT USE IN the GULF WAR PERSICO IS DIFFERENT From WHICH THEY WERE USED IN PALESTINE Or LIBANO Or AFGANISTAN Or IRAQ, IS truth this?

The style of combat uniforms has been evolving constantly. In the first Gulf War, our soldiers wore desert "chocolate chip" camo. It is the current uniform of the Iraqi security forces. In forested areas, and back in the US, soldiers wore the standard green BDUs. In desert theaters, they wore a tan, desert version of the BDUs. Currently the Army now has an ACU, for all areas of operation, and the Mariners have two pixilated uniforms (desert and woodland). The Air Force is changing to one uniform like the army, but currently still uses the standard green and desert versions.

Obviously the uniform's camoflage must match the background. A green camo pattern would stick out in a desert region. The reason that the uniform changed from the first Gulf War to the second is simply that the style of desert camo evolved.

The have changed over the years but that is going away. The new unfiorms that they are putting in place are supposed to be made for any enviroment. If you have noticed the new Army uniform this is what I am referring to. All branches are coming out with a simular style and this uniform will be worn whether in the states or overseas at war.

The Americans have not been in Palestine or Libano (for 20 years).

Camoflague is always being updated and modified which is why the Marines are now using the new digital camo and the desert cam has changed from GW1 to GW2.

my hubby told me once there's like 14 different patterns and types between all the military.

The military has different types of camoflage dress, based on different terrain.

I believe there are currently four -- general (green), desert (tan), urban (gray), arctic (blue/white).
