Have you tried going to a psychologist to give you strategies dealing with your brother? maybe the psychologist may suggest a camp for AHDD children. Good luck

When your bro was diagnosed with ADHD the doc should have told your mom that he does not respond to things the same. Your mom needs to make sure he is compliant with his meds. If they are not working then go back to the doc and get them changed. He cant listen and concentrate because of ADHD. He has an attitude because he does not like how he feels in side due to the ADHD. He needs to be seen by the doc and get hes meds adjusted asap.
I lived with a bro who was diagnosed with the same and it took a while to get the meds right. He is in college now and is doing fine. Makes good grades and is on the honor role.

Turn off the TV, take away his game boy, and engage him in activities that don't shorten his attention span, and leave him wanting for constant entertainment. Is your mother consistent with her discipline? Does he have a routine and firm consequences for misbehaving? Does he have a set bedtime? Does he take medication? Does he have a healthy diet? How is he in school? A 10 year old does not need boot camp for discipline. Yes, ADHD may be difficult to deal with, but it is far worse NOT to deal with it.

Is he on any medication for his ADHD? His attitude and listening problem are caused by his ADHD so the two of you need to be patient.
Seek family counseling and professional medical help before your mother goes about "sending him away". He needs help not punishment for his disability.

ad/hd has a lot to do with attitudes and listening problems. it's part of the diagnosis. he's giving you what you should expect and you and your mom are the ones who have the ability to change, not so for your bro. He's stuck with his symptoms and can't help them. Read about ad/hd; get a workbook and work with him. don't send him away--he's your family and he isn't broken--he's different
