You know what, all of you can consider Mormons,Christians. That doesn't make it so unless you're into creating your own reality.A Christian must follow the teachings of the Bible,if they don't ,they are not.If I go out on the football field and hit the football with a bat,I'm not playing football. If I interpret the Bible the way "I" want to interpret it ,then it's my own religion, not Christianity.
Mormons Don't: believe that Jesus is the eternal son of God,but that he was concieved thru regular sex, then attained godhood by following the Mormon preceps. They believe that"As we are God once was,as God is we can be"(total blasphemy). They say if you follow all their rules ,one day YOU will be the god of your own planet....OK where's the net?
they also believe black skin is a curse because these souls stayed neutral in the war between Jesus and Satan. There's all kinds of nonsense, from the finding of the golden plates,to the Hebrews coming to America before the Indians etc etc,No offense you are great people, just not Christians, follow the Bible nothing else!"Solos Scripturas"Martin Luther said.

From an outsiders point of view in this topic I find it interesting that this site would discuss the topic of cults and then fit thier own criteria. Ok so not all Christian religions see eye to eye but how does that make one right and one wrong? That would be like me telling my Wiccan cousins they are heathen for not being Children Of The Moon and ergo not going to the same place as I am over a few petty words and inturpitations. Seriously, that is not my call, we are all one under our chosen faiths, so why let the little stuff bother you so?

Any faith that doesn't accept Jesus as God the Son, co-eternal and co-present with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit at the creation of the universe, is not Christian. The definition is simple, and many non and quasi-Christian groups strive to identify themselves as Christian to gain credibility.
Classic Mormon theology as taught by Joseph Smith acknowledges a form of deity for Jesus, but come up just short of saying that He is and was always God. Spencer W. Kimball (former LDS president) acknowledges that Mormons are neither Catholic nor Protestant.

Shoving fundamentalism like CARM at them isn't going to help.
CARM rejects marriage in heaven and any Christian faith that doesn't believe in a "trinity" (of persons or polytheism) and the "vicarious atonement" (a this for that exchange for sin) and the "diety of the Holy Spirit" (polytheism again).
CARM rejects the Universal Theology of the New Jerusalem by Swedenborg.
CARM cannot escape from the Middle Ages and Calvinism.

1. Knowingly, I have not attended any Mormon worship service to date.
2. I believe they (Mormons) are 'christian', but currently do not fall in the stereotype of Catholic or Protestant.
3. While I was formerly a deacon in a (Protestant) church; I knew something was not right; and it is part of why I left it. (At another congregation (literally this weekend God permitting) one of the scriptural differences is to be discussed there hopefully).
If CARM does not like it, they can email me at their convenience.
(I read part, not all, of the site above).

Actually I have talked with the Mormons that go door to door. The two I talked with were definitely Christians and saved.
I don't agree with the other book Gods word is perfect and complete. It doesn't need to be added to.

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe that God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to make the ultimate sacrifice to atone for my personal sins as well as the sins of the whole world. I believe that it is only through Christ that I can be saved and enter into the presence of Heavenly Father for eternity. I try to follow Christ's commandments and example every day, although I fall short. I look to him for forgiveness.
I'm not sure how others define "Christian." And to me, it doesn't matter. I consider myself Christian, and God knows my heart.

It is because they are uninformed or misinformed. "Mormons" is the nickname..."The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" is the official title. Anyone who will investigate the Church with an honest heart will learn very quickly that Mormons believe in Jesus Christ.
