This is what you can do. Set up a slide projector. Get the kind that hooks up to your computer, because most people won't bring slides, so you can scan the photos and project them onto a canvas. Then you can hire some hack comercial artist to basically just paint by numbers using the projection as a guide. In this way it can be done quickly and cheaply, and people with no taste in art will beat a path to your door while real artists continue to starve.

Can you explain better what thid idea is? People come in and you arrange for artists to copy in paint their photographs? For cheap? You mean, you take a cut of a very small price for what a starving artist produces? Sounds like a losing proposition. Do the math. Cost of real estate, advertising, payment to the artists...what the buyer would pay...taxes, payroll, bookkeeper...think of an online service and how to automate the reproduction and it might be worth your while.

Go to an art college or university. And post a sign on bulletin board at student union. If an art student does call, ask to samples of his/her artwork. If you like their painting style, then you can talk about your paintings and negotiate the cost (and probably a percentage of sale value per painting back to the artist). As it is artists don't ever get rewarded for their talent. (I know since I'm a ceramist and painter.)
