Many people are selfish and don't want to put the work in to have a really great relationship. In our society it's all about instant gratification and it's starting to run over into relationships, too. As soon as someone sees trouble or they aren't "happy" or "in love" anymore they run for the hills.

Because everyone is looking for the best relationship ever. Trouble no one is perfect so they will never find this type of relationship.
