I live in Coral Springs, FL. I am looking to buy a puppy and I refuse to buy one from a puppy store. Does anybody know where I can find a good quality dog at a great price?

Go to www.akc.org & get in touch with the closest club of the breed of your choice. Make sure the breeder tests & certifies their breeding dogs from any genetic defects known to that breed (all breeds have some, good breeders test & certify). This is the best way to ensure a healthy pet for life. Good for you for not supporting puppy mills/pet stores!

What kind of dog? Call the local humane society and ask about rescues and specific breeders for your area. Someone will know where is the best place to get the specific dog you are looking for. The mall dogs don't come from the locals.....Go meet the parents of your pet.

You might want to try the Humane Society or your local pound. Rescued dogs make great loyal companions, and they generally have all their shots updated, and are sometimes already fixed. You never know what you will find. There are alot of pure breeds that end up in the pound too (if that is what you are looking for)

Contact your local(county) kennel club!
