Well ashley in my opinon, I dont think this is applebees fault. Unless it was a real supper hard peice of bacon. I of course am no expert on there insurance though.. If they pay for it great.

small chips, and big breaks happen all the time with teeth. Some people come in and the whole side of their tooth is missing, and they said it broke off while they ate cake. Teeth will break no matter what your eating, if the tooth is bad.

A simple chip is easy to fix. All you need is a composite filling. Composite is tooth colored. They will patch it up and you'll be good to go. These will usully run you about $ 60 - $80 depending on how many surfaces they have to fix.

Depending on how large the chip is, more than likely your dentist can place a tooth colored filling, called composite, on the tooth. He or she will be able to match up the shade closely to your tooth, build and shape it, and polish it. I chipped a tooth when i was younger and it has held up for over 10 yrs! As long as there is no existing decay on the tooth, your dentist should be able to do this without anesthesia (getting you numb). I'm a dentist and have done many of these types of fillings without anesthesia and the patients have been more than comfortable during the procedure.

Crowns (or caps) are another alternative and is really only recommended for instances where there is a large break in the tooth, not for a small chip as you describe. My rule of thumb, if you think that there will be more filling than the actual tooth in the end, then it is better to get a crown because they will hold up better.

The cost of the tooth colored filling will depend on how many surfaces are involved to fix it. The only way to know is to make an appt with your dentist to have it checked out. Good Luck!!!

You do NOT need to get it crowned!

They make a composite resin to fill it in, no one will ever tell, however they require maintenance meaning you'll have to have it redone a few times in your life time and you won't be able to eat hard candy or bite down on things like pistachio nuts.

My son's cost about $300 I think. I had to pay $85 of it.

you should get it capped but each dentist is different on prices.
Some companies do cover this procedure. All the best :)
