My daughter was bullied by the top bullies in her school,, so one day she wen't up to one of them (at the prompting of one of her friends) and punched the crap outta her!
The bully bled like a stuck pig, I was called into school, but I told the admins there that the brat "deserved it "and was "asking for it" I was basically told I was a bad parent,, oh well,, like as if I gave a rats petootie!
Anyway, after she punched that one, she threw a handful of mud into the face of the second one and all her bullied days were over!
She was left alone by the bullies and hailed by those that were still victims of those bullies.
The more crap you take from people, the more you'll get.
This is considered "bad advice" from the wussy parents and school admins, but the old fashioned way on this issue is the best!
Talking to teachers and councilors is a total waste of time! They'll just tell you to "ignore them" BS! You'll get beat up more for being a snitch!
You can't ignore getting beat up every day!
The Columbine killers were victims of the "lets just ignore bullies" generation. They killed because they couldn't just punch the F*** out of their tormentors.
Don't let it escalate to something like that,, nip it in the bud, screw up their faces and live a life of freedom.
Hey, I did the same back in the late 70's when the little bully gang of girls thought they could mess with me. I messed up one of their little toadies then I didn't even have to punch the crap outta their leader,, she was too afraid to mess with me because their toady had her face slammed into a locker then got suspended while I was basically left alone.
They moved on to this other poor girl, who I took up for,, then they left her alone, moving on to someone I didn't know. (not tooting my horn, but I have an Irish German temper and go over the edge with protecting people)
Ignore the faculty who are paid to be wussies!

Bullies to pick on the weak. To stop a bully, you need a deterrent. Now the regular school yard bully - like President Bush - will not pick on someone who is part of a large group (Islamic Iran) or can hurt him back (Nuclear Korea). Therefore, the cowardly bully will attack someone who is socially isolated and unable to defend himself against a stronger force (like Saddam in Iraq).
Now someone who has never been bullied might suggest working out, telling teachers about the bully, running away, or joining a group. Sorry lil John, but those only work in fantasy land. In reality, you beat the bully the same way the insurgents are hurting our brave troops in Iraq: by playing dirty. Put gum in his hair, spray mace in his face, kick him in the nads, or any underhanded but legal means. Then one of two things will happen. Either he will stop bothering you because it is too much trouble, or you both will go to the principal's office. I prefer the first, but the second is most likely. But that is lot better than the bully hurting you badly, or you turning the school into Columbine.
In truth, there is no way to prevent bullying from happening or to get rid of them once and for all (Bush was elected twice). You can try deterrence, being his friend, humor, lunch money or anything else. The only thing that works more often is just being smarter. Good luck.

That is a hard question. I think its unfortunate but there will always be bullys. The best way to divert a bully is to show self confidence. If you can display confidence bullys tend to steer clear.
I was terribly shy in middle school. I was awkward and overly developed for my age. In other wards I had a target on my back for bullys. When I moved into high school I developed a sharp tongue and I realized that I had an advantage over the other girls( my figure). I became increasingly confident and the bullys found other targets.
I hope this helps.

Well, the answer should be that they need to be dealt with Chuck Norris style and young men need to become skilled in the martial arts.
But of course, now, America has become so feminized that they've even outlawed recess and phys ed, and the school system is force-admininstering dangerous drugs to young boys if they show signs of masculinity.
It's all part of growing up - learning to become a man and fighting for honor and what you know is right.
I have seen this question appear several times as of late, and I have seen no responses such as this (whoops, update, great answers above), only some sissy suggestions on how to deal with the bullies. Well, it's about time somebody said it.
Here is an interesting cartoon strip that appeared in many magazines:

initially, each and every college ought to (ought to) have an Anti-bullying coverage, which should be revealed (and if no longer, should be seen less than the liberty of tips Act). Secondly, training Authorites must have a coverage and guidelines that should be pronounced. So the place of work paintings's in position, yet... instructors should be prepared to take heed to the youngsters, meaning there ought to be a ethos interior the college that admits the concern and enables sufferers sense their voice will be heard. It also signifies that the moms and dads of the bully should be "brought about" to help the college's moves, and it really is the position all of it is going pear-formed. maximum be certain's do no longer settle for that their little angel is usually a monster, and the regulation (plus political correctness) helps their aspect of view. Headteachers and instructors desire the help to look into comments and take action adversarial to the shown responsible with no need to leap with the help of hoops to guard the innocuous sufferers.

The only way to stop bullies from picking on you, is to stand up to them. Even if you are scared stiff, DON'T SHOW IT, stand up to them, and resolve to fight if necessary. In 8 out of 10 cases, they will back down. In two of the cases you will have to fight back. The pain you sustain from fighting will be nothing to the victory you won for yourself. Even if you lose the fight, this bully will think twice before picking on you again.

You have to defend yourself. In other words, fight them even if you know you'll lose. Bullies pick on people with no self-respect.
Even a miniture poodle can defend itself. And you would think twice about 'teasing' it after one good run in with it.

Talking to your schools teachers, counselors, principles, transportation if there is a problem on the bus. If that does not work go to the police or threaten the school officials that you will. Believe me that will get the school doing something.
