HDMI is a digital video/audio interface, carried on a
hdmi cable, capable of high definition video.
It derives from DVI, and is different in defining a much
smaller connector, and supporting encryption.
The encryption aspect is a requirement for HD DVD usage,
so we can expect all monitors and DVD players to begin

Bill is correct

when most people hear the "HDMI" they think of the cable that connects from TV or monitor from the source (like the HD-DVD player)... the HDMI cable carries both digital picture and sound through one cable
