I might have an idea. Maybe put him on a leash and bring him out with you when he needs to go, and then if he tries to go on the concrete, say: "No! Bad dog!" Hope this helps! <3

It's right it is easier to clean up from concrete ! But if you would like your dog to go on grass - You must watch the puppy when he wants to poop he will start going round in circles to find the right place. At this point pick him up and put him on the grass. Stay with him, putting him back on the grass if he goes back on the concrete. Praise him and give a treat when he does what you want. Dogs are creatures of habit. Once is an accident, twice is a coincident and three times a HABIT. DON'T HIT YOUR DOG YOU WILL TEACH HIM AGGRESSION & HE WILL BECOME DANGEROUS. I am a dog trainer with over 30years experience.

I would prefer picking up poop from the concrete than the grass. Maybe you don't pick the poop up? It is hard to pick it up out of the grass. Plus you can wash off the concrete and wash away any residue and odor left behind.

I think that with all training, the best way is to ignor the behaviour you want to change, like pooing on the concrete and reward the behaviour you want to encourge like pooing on the grass. When your puppy goes on the grass give a treat, a cuddle tell him he's a good dog. When he goes on the concrete ignor him. It will work quite fast.

Its actually easier to clean up on concrete. If he does it on the grass, you have the awful job of trying to get it up and it does tend to stick to the blades of grass. At least this way you can wash it down with disinfectant. (Unless of course you are letting him poop in public, but still easier to clean up!)

My dog did the exact same thing. What you need to do is watch for this behavior. As soon as you observe it, put on a rubber glove and take the poop and stick it in his mouth. Hold his mouth shut until he swallows it, in the same manner in which you give your dog a pill. My animal was cured in about a week!
