I believe the religion you research, question and examine is the best one. The one that rings true in your soul would be the best choice.

It's been a number of years since I sincerely did any studying of the Bible so it is going to be hard for me to quote scripture to back up my statement.

First let me say that *this* question is one reason I walked away from the Church years ago. I can't honestly say what "religion" or "faith" I believe to be the way to salvation which is what we are all supposed to be striving for. I wish I could say that I was still searching for that answer but to be honest with you, I haven't been. Not the way I should.

In saying that...
I am somewhat surprised that out of the 25 answers preceding my post that so few take the "plunge" and actually commit an answer to this question. It almost seems like a number of folks are more concerned with being "politically correct" so to speak, than actually answering this question.

Different Christian denominations teach different doctrines. Most importantly they teach different paths to salvation. They can't all be right. There is only one way to get to Heaven as I understand it. Correct? I don't think the Bible has a Plan A and a Plan B and if that doesn't suit you then lets try Plan C. How do I know this? Because the Bible does not contradict itself. It's man that attempts to interpret the Bible in the way that will best suit him.

Baptism is a big one, a requirement not to be ignored... Some Christian faiths teach that you can only reach salvation by repenting and being baptized by submersion, some teach all it takes is sprinkling. Some Christian faiths teach that you can be saved by grace. All of these "religions" are Christian religions. Some religions teach that baptism must me administered to an infant, that they are born of sin. Others believe that a person is not to be baptized until they reach the age of accountability, that at birth they are perfect and don't become capable of being sinners until they are old enough to know the difference between right and wrong.. Again, both of these teachings come from varying Christian faiths. How can they both be correct? I could go on and on with my examples but I will spare you all that.

Anyways, the point I am trying to make is *if* the author of this thread is sincere in their search for the answer to the question "what religion do you believe is true and why " isn't it the duty of a Christian to give them a complete answer and not a half answer? It could be the difference of saving a soul and not.

PS... I'm sorry gfdgirl, you have to focus on the big picture. The Bible gives "details" for a reason. They are not to be ignored.

Different religions exist because we are all at a different place of spiritual growth and we need different things. Any religion that rings true for you and promotes peace, love, and harmony is fine by me. I don't think God really cares whether you call Him God, Allah, Buddha, Hashem, or Joe as long as you help others and give back to creation. If you study the different religions, there are generally more similarities than differences. Unfortunately, people focus on the details and differences instead of the "big picture."

I choose to follow the path of Christ. I believe it's the true religion because it promotes a peaceful way of living that champions humility, self-sacrifice, and kindness toward fellow human beings.

I can see the beauty in all religions, I really can. I understand that others believe their religions are right for them. I will not do anything to change their minds. I believe that anyone who is sincerely searching for the truth will indeed find it, and I'm not wise enough to know the ultimate truth, I just know what's right for me.

"Islam" becuse it means peace. Islam recognizes the prophets of Judaism and christianity. Islam recognises only one creator of the world Allah and Mohammad is the last prophet. Islam preaches equality of all men irrespective of any out ward traits. Mohammed said he did not preach any new religion but the faith of Prophet Abraham from whom the Prophet of Islam descended. It may be be new to others practicing other faiths that the Quran, the book of "Islam" actually narrates the actions of all the prophets descended from Abraham. As a result the followers of "Islam" will never utter any abusive words against the prophets of other faiths descended from Abraham. Moreover the followers of "Islam" believes God sent prophets to every country of the world throughout the ages the total number exceeding 100000. Muslims are supposed to fight injustices of any kind. For followers of " Islam" illiteracy is a sin and learning knowledge is a must. Unfortunately the opposite is true in most muslim countries.

It's not that simple, there are denominations that are closer than others, yet there are saved people in all denominations, chosen but not yet discovered. While it is true. none may come to the Father but by the son. Joining a church doesn't save anyone nor does proclaiming a denomination.

The Bible has been an amazing incite into God and the path we must take. It is not for everyone. The Bible states it will seem like foolishness, but he would give us eyes to see and ears to hear. Every time I read it with prayer , more is given to me. The Bible supersedes denomination.

It and it alone is the way to the son who is the way to God

None completely, and all a little bit. There are good ideas in each religion, but believing in any one totally is naive. Major religions were formed when we didn't know *anything* about the universe. We know a lot now. It's time for us all to grow up.

There is no true religion today that can truly say they have the truth.
We are all sinners and fall short of doing the will of our creator.
All we can do is just search for a congregation that comes close to doing right...not hypocritical.
In the mean time just do your best in your personal life
do good to others and respect yourself and others especially your friends.

None! They all make up rules and regulations that control someone and that to me is the wrong way to approach spirituality. You shouldn't have to be something in order to reach something else, it should always be accessible to everyone at any time and in any kind of frame of mind. Just because you don't fit a certain type of mold should not be reason for exclusion from any type of spirituality! So therefore, I think no type of religion is in the right one.
