The man who wrote that did in fact consider women equal -- but he wrote it in a letter to a particular church. Here's why he wrote it...
Before Christianity, the temples in that area were houses of prostitution. Women who stood and spoke in the temple were trying to turn on the men of the community and get some business.
Christian churches were supposed to be different, but the community found it hard (pardon the pun) to get over their old ways. Paul recommended women stay quiet until such time that the old ways were forgotten.
He did not mean that should be the way of all churches for all time.

God created man and woman equally with different purposes. Just like some people have brown hair, and others have bloond hair ... each is for God's glory and purpose. Simplistically, think about who's the most important in the human triangle ... is it the cheerleader on the bottom ... middle ... or top? All all equal, who in perfect union form a human triangle.
"1577 "Only a baptized man (vir) validly receives sacred ordination." The Lord Jesus chose men (viri) to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry. The college of bishops, with whom the priests are united in the priesthood, makes the college of the twelve an ever-present and ever-active reality until Christ's return. The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible."
Plus, this call for "Holy Order" is a gift from God, and it is rude to demand a gift especially from the almighty who gives all.

God respects women. Some churches try to make those scriptures out to mean that women are inferior beings.
Yes, there is a chain of headship, but all women have to make their own stand. And, no man can tell them that they cannot worship God in the way that they believe to be correct.
And, vice versa, everyone has the right to do so, according to the Bible, if not to some humans.

Women are very loved in the sight of the creator we not only have a very high position in his sight but we are ordained to teach other women. When a new person comes into your congregation the women should teach the women and the men should teach the men.ALL the answers to all the questions would be the same because of the unity of the doctrine. Some churches want the women to remain silent because they don't want all the questions because they don't have the answers.NO women don't have to remain silent about all religious matters ,we just don't have the spiritual authority to teach men.We are the weaker vessel, and that is in the scriptures.

You should read Paul in the New Testament (he's known for his gender discrimination) and the whole Old Testament.
But in general, the status of females has always been put-down by religion, even by Buddhism and Hinduism. For example, women were said to be born with 5 original sins in Buddhism and that it was always harder for females to reach Nirvana than men.
We generally need to take into perspective the era the religion was born from to understand why this happened. So it won't seem so weird after all - not that I'm saying it's right.

That is not Gods desire. It is said men and women take turns
being in power on this world. The last time women were in power,
there were a few that treated men equally. Most of them could
have cared less about men, like today. And then there was the
Amazon society. They killed the male children and only saved enough for breeders and slaves.
The things happening in our world are both Karma, (making up
for the past). And choices we make in the here and now.
After all. The purpose of the exercise, is to learn to use the
power wisely.

Women are equal. They just have different roles in the church. Actually, God is trying to give women a break. They have enough stress in their lives without trying to run a church. Also, if women take over, the men will just get lazy and let them. Men are supposed to lead. When they don't, society goes downhill. Let's pray for the Christian men that they'll step up to the plate and do their job.

"god" had nothing to do with it; the patriarchy did and does.I've seen it first hand, up close. I have never in my life run into such hypocrisy and power politics as I saw in several churches. They are all about ego, control, and money. Women, despite what some claim, are just sidekicks, unless both husband and wife are serving the same church. Even then, he is the big cheese. Forget equality and forget the churches.Minister's wives are often the most neglected, saddest, angriest women around. Of course all Christian women are to be good little wives and moms. They must fulfill their biological destiny after all. They can bask in their hubby's reflected glory, but in reality that's as far as it goes. A single female minister in the church ( where they are permitted) is immediately suspected of being a lesbian, and even then is often sexually harassed by men who are in complete denial of what they've done. The word "religion" refers to being tied back to god or to a higher ethic.A church has nothing to do with it, ditto organized religion. A person's basic goodness is found inside or its found nowhere.

Did you know that in some cases, women were GREATER than men in religious services? How about Deborah and Hulda? and Jael?
Additionally, women can be prophetesses, only men can be priests. To each, his/her office. Are they not equal? The problem begins when the women want to become priests, as well!!! Incidentally, my wife (and many other women I am acquainted with) say they cannot accept a woman pastor.
As for your quote (1 Cor 14:34), you need to apply the principle of hermeneutics in order to understand what is going on IN THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION.

Um, nicely, i'm no longer certain about others, yet Wicca frequently does attempt this. you need to are growing the idea that Wicca is more effective "lady" because there are Wiccan communities that do concentration on the female divine, and also there replaced right into a lot less adult males because why ought to a guy prefer to be in a faith the position females are treated /both?/, or so replaced into the attitude longer in the past. as well that, nonetheless, i do not extremely imagine there are any... Hmm, kinda unhappy, actually.
