It's possible. Even cavities that get filled can get cavities again underneath or around the filling. The BEST way to keep from getting more cavities is to forgo ALL refined sugar and brush your teeth within 5 to 10 minutes of eating. If you can't do that, then swish some water around your mouth. Small cavities can heal themselves, and remineralize. Make sure to brush 2 times a day and floss once a day.

I was raised in a town where we did not have flouridated water thus every one had cavities. My dentist said it was one of the best places for a new dentist to start a business because it made everyones teeth rot. So it doesnt all have to do with how well you take care of your teeth. I brush, floss and see the dentist on a regular basis,

Sometimes you can take the best care of your teeth and it still does not matter. Some people are just more prone to calculus (harden plaque) and decay then others. Genetics has a lot to do with how your teeth will turn out. Not to say that just because your grandmother had dentures by 30 you will too. Just that sometimes you can do everything right and still get build up and decay.

Although I take great care of my teeth, I was dealt a bad hand in the dental area. My teeth suck and fall apart like nobody's business. Although I brush after every meal, I have more fillings than anyone I know. What the hell?

It all has to do with genetics. I have brushed after eating and then some and still get cavities. When you age then you will get them more often.
Keep them clean and white while you can..

I never did either until I was in my thirties. Your teeth and chemical balance in your mouth change with time.
