To make sure that people are seated where the bride and groom want them. Otherwise, all the early geeks would be sitting up front.

So that people can quickly and easily find their seat. You also give preferential seating to parents, wedding party, family from out of town, etc., etc., etc. Another reason is for the wait staff, if you're serving a dinner, and gave your guests a choice between say chicken and fish, a seating chart will also tell the wait staff how many of what dish go at each table.

i've got purely been to weddings without seating chart... it did artwork out only high-quality, IMO... frequently not many open seats. the only tables that did have a seating chart have been those reserved for kinfolk. i honestly like getting to % my very own seat so i don't get caught with human beings the bride THINKS i like.... yet I do could desire to assert that from what the others are asserting, consistent with danger you're able to pass with a seating chart. i won't be in a position to assert notwithstanding if i like it or not using fact i've got in no way been to a marriage with one. It does help with filling up all the seats, and makes it so others do not could desire to cut up up.... i think of you're able to do a seating chart....

We did them because people kind of expect them. It helps them know where to sit, so "regular" guests can avoid the "important" tables. It can also help people mingle. We did them at our wedding, and people are still talking about how much they enjoyed the people they were seated with. It can be a good idea, depending on how large your wedding is and how well people know each other.

Although between you, your spouse and your parents you know everyone attending your wedding, chances are they don't know each other.
Seating charts help you ensure that your guests enjoy their time at your reception, by either seating them with people they know, or seating them with people that are like-minded or with whom they have things in common.
Seating charts are to weddings what party-games are to baby-showers: a means for people who don't know each other to get involved and have a good time.

So a relative won't feel slighted if they don't find their seat. One of ours left because it was packed, even though more seating was in another room.Only a few tables were designated for the wedding party only.May have to rethink to designate all tables,at least be sure relatives have a place. The older folks feel a little left out, otherwise.Should not be this way, since it is for bride and grooms day..but..

To know where to sit relatives and friends according to their closeness to the bride and groom. I had no idea until I got engaged to my lady and her daughter became our wedding planner.
