Technically, apes, as we know it, appear to have evolved from basic bacteria which lived in the sea before evolving onto land. The question would then have to be "Does God look like bacteria?"

God did not write about creation, man did therefore it cannot be true as man tends to exaggerate to minimize certain things.
It was man's conceit the made him think that we were made in God's image.
The whole creation story is just a myth perpetuated by the bogus Christian religions of the world.
There is no god, man being a reasoning creature tried to find a reason for his being and invented the myth of god and gods.

I agree exactly with what 'V' said. God is a figment of people's imagination. How anyone can deny evolution is way beyond me. Evolution is all around us. I mean take the flu for example. There is a new vaccine every year, why? Because the virus EVOLVES. What worked a year ago may not work now. Thats evolution.

God is bascially a figment of man's imagination, the biggest lie that he has allowed to control his life. how can man refuse to accept evolution, when it is clearly evident? whether he chooses to believe in God or evolution, it should be one or the other. how can one believe God created the world, and then allowed evolution to take place? anyway the logic of science defies the fable of God

Let me answer the first question...yes man was created in God's image...in that he has the same attributes as God has.
Love, wisdom, power and justice. God displays them more accurately than man. But in our state of being today,
we can display them and incorporate these in our lives.
Animals don't have these attributes they have instincts God created in them.
The creation days were 7000 yrs long each soon we will
be in the thousand yrs of Christ's day for the resurrection
of the dead to live during that reign to gain perfection that Adam lost for us here on earth.

"So my question is if God created man in his image, does he looks like a primate?"
Yes. Humans are primates. Did you never study anthropology?

Lets look at this question from another direction.
If another creature other than human becomes the dominant specie of this planet and develop religion, they would not want their 'God' to look like human, rather they would prefer one with their likeness.
God is but a figment of our imagination. If someone tells you Jesus of the Nazareth is God, then I would tell you that we are all God as we are no more different than him.

Well how would we even know. Even the pictures of Jesus of Nazareth are what we only think he may look like. I don't believe anyone has even tried that with God. So if we won't even make a supposition on what he may or may not look like how can we be sure we are made in his image.

Maybe he does. But don't make a monkey out of God or yourself!lol
I also agree with the time table you mentioned. God's time sure isn't our time. We measure time according to the Earth's rotation around the sun. God uses a different clock. That's why it seems that God takes a long time to answer our prayers.
But with all the many types of people (shapes, colors, sizes, etc.), God must be a pretty colorful character. I can't wait to meet her!

Some use the verse a "thousand years is like a day", but they forget that the next part says "a day is like a thousand years". So they cancel each other out. How clear did God have to say it to make people believe he created earth in six days. What does He have to say "it took me 518,400 seconds to create Earth." It took him six days.
