I have been reading about the microchips and was wondering if anyone has done it to their dog, if so what are the costs involved? Once it is put in, do you have to pay a fee for them to maintain the information? Any info would help.

It is $35 where I live. Your info is logged into the national database, and they give you the 1-800 number so if you move you can update. They also give you a tag for your dog collar so that people know your dog is microchipped.

check with you local animal control about getting you dog chipped. our animal control charges $10 and the vet will charge $30 or more. You have to pay a small fee to get the dog on the registry, too. I paid $6.00. not too bad and then i think you only have to pay again if you move.

They vary from state to state....I got my Rat Terriers done at the humane society for 20.00. I think a vet would be slightly higher. I would call around and ask...like vet clinics and local animal shelters. I don't believe that youhave to pay a fee for them to maintain the info...

It is a one time fee only. Where I live the chip is a $25 flat fee. Good for you, for getting your dog a chip:)
