They are all tough. My husband is Army Airborne, tough as nails if you ask me. I have met people too who are Navy Seals, Army Rangers, Marines...all tough as he is. So it is all a matter of the person. It is not a matter of the branch of military.

Each branch has their own version of "tough". However, the toughest i've seen in the world are the Korean Rock Special Forces. The craziest and toughest anywhere.

first give us better definition of "toughest",I have friends from marine recon,Seal team #2 ,2/75th IN (RANGER) & 1st SFG both @ Ft. Lewis,Wa. Now for starting a bar fight my Ranger friend is by far the best he is a chic MAGNET and i get by on his cast offs ALONE,but for get you home safe EVERYTIME no fear ,no alley too dark no situation ever fazes him, would be the SEAL,I have only seen him fight once and it was sureal ,he fought 3 guys and I stood there amazed it was over so fast!I tried to tell him how i should have helped but he had this aw shucks attitude and said he would let me get the next one!

I think most of the various services 'elite' personnel are fairly specialized by the type of missions they're called upon to perform. So in a way its like comparing apples and oranges.

The downside of all the elite groups is that they're taken out of their parent organizations where they would be an inspiration to other troops.

In the US? Yes. All the other special forces are tough, but as a whole none is tougher than SEALs.

Hell no! The navy seals are like fish, you take them out of the water and they all die. I personally don`t like Marines because they are too proud, but they are toughes and roughest, they are the first to go when ever war break-out.

personally i think it would be the army rangers
but according to this forum, http://www.worldaffairsboard.com/showthread.php?t=4709

a lot of people think the INDIAN special forces are the best... they are called the 'black cats' and seem to be pretty tough considering they beat our special forces and others from around the world not to long ago in a competition. but i still got love for USA
