Why would a girl like this song, or insist that I listen to it?

I think the meaning of the song is that a guy has never really gotten over his ex girlfriend and then one day as he is with his new girlfriend late at night his ex girlfriend is calling him. He thinks somethings wrong because she is calling very late, and then he tells her that he never got over her and that sometimes he wishes that his new girlfriend was her.

He and his ex are still in love even though they are now with other people. Message- he doesn't want to say goodbye to his new love but she is making it hard for him to be faithful because she has the lips of an angel. What he means by 'lips of an angel' is probably that she is a sweet person.
