Go JOSHUA!! If I could, I would personally shake his hand and thank him for his courage. There aren't many adults who have that much courage and I greatly admire his patriotism and American heart. That's what we need. If we had more like him on our side, this problem wouldn't be so out of hand. He is a hero.

That's not the argument that is relevant to the issue.
The issue is, whether the school had the right to interfere or punish a student from organizing their rally on public property during open lunch, regardless of what the rally was about. The govt cannot pick and choose issues, allowing students to protest some but not others.
That being said, it's also a completely different issue regarding the flyers (which may have violated school policy, the article is unclear), the lunchtime rally itself, and the walk-outs. Each of these is a different activity, and falls under different rules.
The content of the protest or the rally is not the issue. The activity is.

no but it's easy to understand why. The school officials wanted peace and quiet to run their little school. I don't really agree with this student's views on immigration, but he has every right to hold a peaceful demonstration.
Ideas are dangerous to those in power, and every administrative body has gotten its cue from the big guys in Washington- apparently, stretching the law for one's own convienence is now OK.
Gunrunner- that's funny, I kinda thought California was the state that, as its own country, would outrank the U.S. in economic production by 3 countries.

What did you do?? Never mind I saw it, You have to have permits for demonstrations. The school has rules as well.It' just one of the many bureaucracies that address our youth. when you look at the wars, who is fighting them?. sad but true. in answer to your question, Negative, he did what he thought is right.

I say, let him protest all he wants since it is his American right. If the school administration wants to suspend him again, just let them know that you just might take the head administrator and slap the cowboy sh*t out of him.......

well this is the same country where you have to recieve a permit to exercise your First amendment rights...........You need to see the problem with the system not the incident.

Yes, the punishment is just. He had the right to protest, but not on the school's time or grounds; he did not have their permission. Would you feel it was OK for him to hold his protest in your yard? same difference.
