Has anyne been diagnosed with MS without having brain lesions on an MRI? I know it's possible to have it without them; but I'm looking for someone who has personally been diagnosed without brain lesions showing on an MRI. I think I have it (MS) but almost every test I have taken comes back normal for more thahn 17 years with some showing very slight abnormalities.

Listening to the Montell Williams show will get you no where UNLESS his program is about MS which is not often enough. His web-site for me was not helpful either as they mainly want your donation. Have you had a lumbar puncture? (Spinal Tap) If you have had an MRI of your brain and it shows no lesions then this is what you need to have done. I have MS and know from experience that not much treatment is available for our terrible disease but we do need treatment and I hope you will get a spinal tap if you havent yet. You need to take control of your health and be demanding and insist you get answers. Good Luck

you probably have another disease that mimics ms. there are many out there including hepatitis c that have the same symptoms as ms.

you haven't found the correct person to do the job. good doctors are hard to find.

viruses (like ebv, hcv, hbv, herpes) can do a whopper as they do pass the blood brain barrier. if your organs are affected, you will also have toxin buildup which could cause abnormalties in the brain.

you did not tell me what your other symptoms are, but I can probably tell you a few:

lethargy, brain fog or short term memory issues, muscle weakness and tender points. is your coordination off at times? the other symptoms vary from mild to severe and life threatening. skin rashes, heart palpiations, urq pain (dull ache where the liver is) gallstones, lung disease, heart, you name it, hcv is in it (if you have it!)

i mention hcv because it is one of the most under-diagnosed diseases of this century. 4 times as many folks have hcv and over half of those don't know they have it. it surpases AIDS by four times over as well.

if the doctor has not tested for the hcv antibodies, chances are he thinks your okay, when in reality, your not. usually doctors only run specific tests and not always are properties in the blood like ALT and AST levels will be elevated because sometimes with diseases like hcv, the levels wax and wane.

The doctors may see an elevation in the white cell counts which would indicate infection....if this is so, I would seek the advice of your doctor and ask to be tested for liver disease of any kind.

Good luck to you!

I have ms and they found it through a spinal tap I had had and MRI and they at first thought I had had a stroke and sent me to a neurologists she did the spinal tap for ms and it came back positive and I had all the symptoms I now take beta seron injections every other day and it really helps. You probably need to have a spinal tap.

My mom has it. The test is a spinal tap not having anything to do with the brain. I had the test because my mom has it. What are your symptoms?
