There have been many postings lately about the new sanitary belts that women are using again to hold their pads. I am a tampon user, but I talked to three friends of mine that recently started using them and here is what they told me.

I am not selling them - but thought I would try to help out this forum.

- Hold closer to the body than undies can.
- Never move around - fit firm and secure.
- Don't stick to your body and hurt.
- Don't stick to itself, since there is no sticky - it uses the little belt.
- Can wear with stylish new lacy and colored sanitary belts.
- The pads are really thin and have the extra bit that hooks into the belt.
- Can wear under pantyhose without undies if you wish.
- Great for overnight, daytime, sports, etc.

They are all in their 20's and say they would never go back to sticky pads again.

Well, I'll be darned! But then again, I was surprised when mini skirts, platform heels, and bell bottoms came back in style too.
I wonder what other "old fashioned" stuff is coming back these days. Keep posting when you find out.
I remember sticky pads becoming popular right when I was at the age to start using them. They still had the belted Kotex pads in the purple box with the yellow rose on the front. My mom used those, but started buying the "beltless pads" when those were introduced to the market. There were only two brands of beltless maxi pads in those days--StayFree and New Freedom.
I also remember a brand of tampons called Rely. They took those off the market when some users got Toxic Shock Syndrome from using them. They were ultra-absorbant and I think women were keeping them in too long.
But anyway, thanks for that tidbit. I found it amusing.

Speaking as someone who grew up with those damned things - why would anyone want to wear them? The little belt rolls up, the metal (or probably nowadays, plastic) part sticks into your flesh and it will shift - completely over sometimes. And when the tab loses its grip.... Oooooh. I cannot even begin to imagine going back to a sanitary pad with a belt!!! Thank God, menopause is coming close for me!!! Nothing personal, but ack!

When I was a young gal in the 50's we had the belts and they had metal clips in front and back. If you sat down wrong, the metal clip would jam into my coccyx. I can still feel the pain. They must have improved them since for them to be popular now. Gee, I thought pantie liners were the best. What goes around comes around, I guess!

I remember them when I was a teenager and they were snug but I still would rather deal with the sticky pads myself.

When I first got my period, my Mother had had me use these.
This was in the 80's.
I felt like I was in the stone age.
Couldn't get to a typical pad fast enough!

However...it is great for use during sleep.
Still wouldn't do it, though.

And if you have an older vehicle they make great fan belts in an emergency.

You are not fooling anybody by creating multiple accounts and posting this same nonsense over and over till you run out of questions every couple of days.

What I'd really like to know is why the bleep this question keeps winding up in "etiquette".
