It's VERY wrong to hate a large group of people, why do people think that they should live their lives through hatred this way? I mean what's the point of hating people all your life! You're only making it hell for them! The entire thing with religious and social stigma about homosexual is so stupid, when there doesn't need to be! Tradition and faith can blind logick, but you CAN have a balance of the two and be awesome people and awesome Christains if you're religious!? But why does it seem like you never see these people?! It's stupid you have to see the idiots most of the time!

Do you agree, or disagree?

And by agree and disagree, I don't mean say something stupid.

miguel.sombra, I didn't mention anyone else that hates it because well, I honestly don't have to deal with it everyday like I have to do with other people!

You guys are so cruel!

When you hate someones life choice, it offends the person and it deeply hurts them!

Maybe I guess we shouldn't be Christian, becuase it sounds like if you're a Christian you're a bad person! Maybe peopel should just listen to common sense!

justinteim4, I really appriciated what you said!

Prejudiced biggotry is horrible, although... I do pity the ignorant bigoted people... I mean they honesty think they're RIGHT, and don't know how horrible they make it for me just because I'm gay, which is so stupid!

I agree that I think I know straight where they're going, but I pity them.

What does the Bible say?

The Bible, as God's word, reveals God's moral character and it shapes
the moral character of the Christian. There have been those who have used
the Bible to support homosexuality, taken verses out of context and reading
into them scenarios that are not there. Quite simply, the Bible condemns
homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says.

1.. Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female;
it is an abomination."
2.. Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie
with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall
surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."
3.. 1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not
inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals1, 10nor thieves,
nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit
the kingdom of God."
4.. Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading
passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is
unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function
of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men
committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty
of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any
longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are
not proper."

I am a Christian. My best guy friend, whom I would do anything for, is gay. I love him to pieces, but I don't approve of his choice of "partner". He "came out" about a year after we finished high school. Do I hate him because he's gay? No. Has our friendship changed? Not at all. We could still pick up the phone, day or night, and finish our last conversation.

I don't know where I stand with homosexuality. I think it's gross, and I could never partake in it, but the fact is, it's been around forever. I don't buy the theories that homosexuals are made that way to control the population. I don't want to believe God made anyone gay, because it doesn't fit with what the Bible teaches about homosexuality. That being said, I don't believe gays can be "cured" either. It's not a disease. Someday, we will know for sure if it is a gene, something that can be altered through medication if so desired, or if it's something people just choose. There are gays who say "I wouldn't choose to be this way". I think they should try to date the opposite sex, and see what it does for them.

Have you ever heard the expression "Love the sinner, hate the sin"? That's how I look at homosexuality. I don't like what my friends do, but I love them anyway. The same goes for all homosexuals. I don't approve of their actions, but they deserve to be happy just like the rest of us.

No one should hate anyone. Least of all Christians have an obligation to love their neighbor. It can be an act of love to point out moral error in another, but hate speech is not the manner in which it should be done. Many Christians believe they have an obligation to correct homosexuals for the purpose of saving their souls. Many of them do this out of love for their fellow man because they do not wish to see anyone go to hell. That said, I have seen, far too many times, Christians screaming uncharitable words to and about homosexuals. Calling someone a "fag" is not kind, nor will it convert the individual, if that is the true aim of the Christian. I will pray for both sides and I am certain that God, in His goodness, will help all.

Here's what you do to combat the so called religious people who act like this. Ask them who else it is that can not enter the kingdom of heaven (gossips are one and those are the ones hassling you). and if they are say proposing a constitutional amendment to stop gossips from commiting charactor assassination. Just a warning though there is some pretty strong evidence that gossiping is not the only thing God disapproves of. Perhaps "if it feels good do it" does not have a big pay off in the end.

I agree it is wrong to hate but you are generalizing when you say christians hate homosexuality. It is a sin in the eyes of God and it is not something that can be condoned. It is more about hating the sin than anything else. Society on the whole can hate large groups of people, not soley christians or any other religious groups. We live in an intolerant world.

It is wrong to hate, period. No religion condones hate, particularly not Christains. That mean no hate, not large groups, not individuals - no hate.

I think Homosexuals are feared because people seem to think that exposure to "unholy" elements will tempt their children or breathren to an ungodly way of life. Some faiths as a group seem to want to wipe out behaviour that is unseemly to them, because they fear even the mention of it can damn them personally somehow if they do not vocally object (as if not objecting is somehow condoning).

I don't think sexuality is a smart place to be drawing lines, personally - but I still can't get a straight answer myself out of christians as to whether it is more important to live as the church dictates or as christ would have done. It seems to me that there's an aweful lot of us non-christians who still behave in a christ-like manner (unknowingly even sometimes) simply because that is the right way to be (and Christ's sexuality was not really discussed, as our should be - private means private). I wonder what god will say in the end. I think that many of us that Christians would damn to hell (for not going to church, not calling ourselves christian, etc.) would actually be embraced by their own god as good people of faith and honor.

Peace!

Christians do not hate homosexuals ( the person) they hate homosexuality ( the abomination ).

I hate a friend that is homosexual. He knows how I feel about his lifestyle. He know I believe the Bible and I believe it is a sinful lifestyle and he doesn't flaunt it in any way.
Actually sometimes we discuss it a little and he does beleive the Bible for the most part.
Mu poing is, We are friends still even though we are MILES apart in belief.

Adam the people who do this are not Christians, they are bigots.

There is a difference. Just because they call themselves Christians does not mean that they are.

True Christians follow the teachings of Jesus. This means Love your neighbor. Jesus never excluded any one from this love that we are supposed to have. Judge not was his message. Real Christians do not even notice if someone is gay or not because they would need to pass a judgment to come to that conclusion.

Don't let the bigots hiding behind the old testament fool you into thinking that they are Christians. What they do is almost the exact opposite of what Jesus asked us to do.

Many don't hate the people who are homosexuals and what I find is more often when one speaks against it they are accused of hating the person. Is this you? There is a big difference. To hate sin is different than hating the person who sins. I hate what homosexuality does to those who are trapped in it or who are conned into it. It also is destructive to society and every study shows it is not as healthy an environment for children to be raised in. Don't go yelling hate just because many disagree even strongly. You are an instigator if you do.

More importantly, what did Jesus say about homosexuality? Answer: Nothing. He never mentioned it! If Christ himself did not condemn it, what makes so many "self-styled Christians" think that they are justified in doing so. And are you ready for the judgement that you so willingly dole out to others?

And while we are on the subject, where is the "sin" of homosexuality mentioned in the Ten Commandments? Answer: Nowhere. Those "self-styled Christians" must be serving another master, because God did not mention homosexuality in the Ten Commandments. Where is the self-righteous indignation about adultery, which IS condemned in the Ten Commandments?

To "color in" the blanks with your own man-made bigotry is to presume to take the place of the True God, the selfsame sin for which Satan was cast out of heaven like a bolt of lightning, where he slinks about among the other scum of the earth who like to take judgement of others into their own hands.

Hating homosexuality is Christian. Hating homosexuals is not Christian.

Love the sinner, hate the sin......

"Tradition and faith can blind logick" you say. Where is the "logic" in homosexuality? What greater good does it bring about? What benefit is it to society? I don't want a list of wonderful human beings who are homosexuals because I know it would be voluminous, but what greater societal good actually comes about as a result of two people of the same sex stimulating eachother's genitals?
