If Jesus is and was Jewish...okay, it would stand to reason that we should all be Jewish...BUT...the people rejected him, right? So, is that where Christianity comes from? If so, wouldn't that make Christianity wrong?

For me, this is a serious question so please try to be civil guys...

yes, jewish people except for a very small minority decided he was not the messiah, and the jewish minority who did think he was went on to convert other non-jews to this belief, and thats where christianity comes from.

Jesus was born and died a Jew, but he told people that he brought a new covenant (that is, a new compact between God and his believers). Whether Jewish or Gentile (non-Jewish), Jesus' followers continued to believe in and spread his teachings. They were simply differentiated from traditional Jews as Christians (followers of the Christ). So, no, he was not rejected by all Jews, just some (many, even most) of them. The religion based upon his teachings is still around and going strong. Just because some people reject a religion doesn't make it wrong; nor does accepting a religion by some make it right.

O.K. I just summarized the entire Bible for another guy just a few minutes ago, and I don't want to retype it, so I'm putting the link in here to that page. Scroll all the way to the bottom when you get there. The only real difference between Judaism and Christianity is that we Christians have accepted Jesus Christ as being the promised Messiah (deliverer) that God sent to the Jewish people. God used the nation of Israel (the Jews) to bring about a perfect sacrifice for man's sin, Jesus the Son of God. Because He is perfect and without sin, He could die in our place and pay for our sins without having to pay for His own, first.

No we are not all Jews. They are a specific race of people that God created from one man named Abraham around 4000 yrs ago.

No, it doesn't make Christianity wrong. The Jews have for the most part, not accepted Jesus as the Messiah (although many of them have) but the Bible prophesies that they eventually will, close to the end of the world.

God Bless,

I really don't understand your question. If Jesus was Jewish we should all be Jews? But what people rejected him? It was the Romans, not necessarily the Jews...And how does "that" make Christianity wrong? How can a religion be wrong? A religion either is or isn't.

Jesus himself was not a Christian. He was a member of a radical Jewish sect. It was St. Paul who started the Christian religion, using Jesus as the "key", the avatar, the revelation...And it wasn't until 325 that Jesus was declared a god, Mary a virgin, and Christianity took its current, polythesistic form. I think the Jews would accept Jesus as a good guy, a prophet maybe (the way the Muslims do), but they don't accept Jesus as a god.

Christians were a sect of Judaism. Christianity comes from that small sect that eventually broke off.

It doesn't make Christianity wrong. It just makes it a part of history. The Jews have been waiting for a Christ, and many came before him claiming to be the Messiah. Some led the Jews into revolution, others led into an education revolution. Miracles were also performed, but it could be said that these miracles were that of drugs and such. What made Jesus so special was that he DID come through with what he said. He DID change the world. Was he the Messiah? That's between you and your God. Did people think he was the Messiah? Some did. Others just think that he was just a prophet.

Jesus was Jewish yes, and in fact, had to be since he was born of the tribe of Judah. What Jesus taught was reflected in the religion that came to be called Christianity. Since he taught it, how could it be wrong?

Many people rejected him, yes, but not all. Those that did not reject Christ became Christians. In truth, until the Gentile Cornelius became a Christian, all disciples were Jewish. That includes all the apostles.

So, Christianity comes from Christ Jesus. Followers of Christ are called Christians, they are not practicers of Judaism. Does that help you?

Jesus was some Jewish kid from the West Bank, basically an observant Jew but questionable in his behavior.
He didn't do anything special from the Jewish point of view.

Jesus believed he was the Jewish Messiah. Most Jews reject him as such, and are still Jews. However, Christians believe he was the Jewish Messiah, and follow his word. It's more a matter of opinion about whether or not he was the Messiah.

In religion, as with all things people can disagree. This does not mean that one side is right and the other wrong. Not everyone believes in Democracy or in Capitalism. They aren't wrong, they just see things differently.

All through history there are instances of this. Wars have been fought over and over because both sides believe they are right. People don't do things because they think they are wrong. We usualy see opositions like this in good/bad relationships because we are on one side. Just remember that those on the other side think we are the bad ones.

When we no longer act in a way we believe is right only then are we wrong and if it happens that part way through we decide we are wrong then we have to change.

You can't say christianity is wrong, only that it is wrong for you, which is ok.

How fortunate you're! Jesus grew to become right into a Jew. with out Judaism there could have been no Christianity. What many Christians lack is an information of the folk who have been chosen to be the folk of his Son. I each and every each and every now and then think of it unhappy that maximum of Jews nonetheless look forward to one that has already come. yet i think of, with your history, you be responsive to greater beneficial than maximum Christians be responsive to. Jesus mentioned, "Ye have considered me, and yet ye believe not. Blessed is he who has not considered me, and yet believes" I won't say "God Bless" using fact he already has.
