My dad didn't want anything special, it was just another birthday to him. I therefore would be tempted to let him buy himself something, maybe give a bit extra as he probably has something in mind.

For my father's 60th birthday, we threw him a surprise party. We invited his closest friends, and since my brother and I live on the other coast, we flew in. When he walked in, my husband, brother and I hid, so he had the initial surprise of seeing his friends, and then turned around and saw us. It was priceless.

Oh boy...that's a tuff one. My husband is the same way. He is so hard to buy for because if he needs something, he gets it for himself.

Does he have any hobbies? If so, I suggest an accesory for one of his hobbies. It will have to be a token item since he already has everything he needs. What about a coffee table book pertaining to one of his hobbies.

Does he golf? Get him some golf balls.
History? Get him a nice hard cover book.
Fishing? .......well, you get the point.

If you have the time and can manage to get a few photographs how about the link below.

I think it is a truely unique gift to give someone - and really personal.

Hope you get him something he likes!

What does he like? Fishing, cars, etc If you know an interest, and hopefully you do, get him something for that interest. Or, how about a surprise party where you invite all his old buddies, etc?

Why not buy him a fishing trip for the day! You can buy tickets for a day trip excursion. And go with him.
