Don't let him make the mistake of going to a shelter....first of all there are almost NO poms there (they are too cute to give up!) and if they are they are mixes. Also, many are much older than they are said to be and have health problems. The best thing to do is go to reputable breeder even if it does cost a lot of money. You'll get a cuter, healthier, better dog. If he really doesn't want to do this, try to find a rescue that specifically rescues pomeranians only. The people are more pom-knowledgable and, in my opinion, more trustworthy. They sometimes get puppies there, too!

Poms can be pricey, but a rescue may have one that is more affordable. Just beware of existing behavior problems. My friends breed poms and they do have a harder time potty training the males than they do the females.

the humane society. you can usually find pure dogs at humane societies and animal rescues. you can look them up in your area and even leave messages to them if they don't have one to notify you when they do.
