there is a large portion of Jews that have accepted Jesus.
but if the Jewish people had received Jesus as the messiah, then the salvation that Jesus bought on the cross would not have spreed to the gentiles.

The religion Jesus inspired was heretical to the Judaism of his time. Just as previous Jewish prophets had done before him, Jesus was reacting against the strict Jewish law of his day. One of his main messages was that the law that exists in your heart (your conscience, I suppose) should be enough to tell you right from wrong, and that each believer had his own personal relationship to god. This didn't go over too well with some of the Jewish high-priests who were considered "colser" to god than their followers. Some of the less reputable rabbis also benefited from the bureaucratic power structure of the Jewish faith. So, anyone who followed Jesus was declared a heretic. Believers had to form their own religion.
The obvious irony is that many forms of Christianity today are burdened by convoluted laws and rituals...the very things Jesus tried to abolish from Judaism 2000 years ago.

After Jesus left the earth, his followers formed a 'sect' from Judaism. Originally, at the beginning of this new 'sect' or Church, one had to become Jewish before becoming Christian.
After the Council of Jerusalem, it was decided that converts did not have to become Jewish first. Thus, the new religion began.
However, Christianity has many aspects of Judaism: 10 Commandments, the Old Testament, and many beliefs/practices- fasting, purification, etc.
You asked a very intelligent question. I hope I was able to answer it properly for you.

Jews are basically adherents to the Jewish religion. In Jesus's time they were mainly Semites racially (as were the Arabs and others in that region). The followers of Jesus became known as Christians because they no longer followed the traditional Jewish religion. And many if not most of then were not Semites, therefor not Jews in that respect either.

Jesus taught people to believe in him. The old (Jewish) testament was written 5000 years before Jesus, so he was not in there. With Jesus a new religion was born - Christianity. I was born to a Jewish mother but still believe in Christ. Does that make me a Jewish Christian or a Christian Jew??

Yes, Jesus, is Jewish.
There are Jews who believed Jesus is the Messiah, and Jews who did not believe it, so the term "Christian" came later to distinguish between the two of them.
When Jesus was crucified the sign they put on his cross said "Jesus, King of the Jews" or something like that. He was always teaching in the temples etc. He is Jewish. I will often call myself a "Messianic Jew" because Christ was the Messiah.

Because of the distortions of history. Watch the PBS special "The
First Christians" and you will see that Jesus was not worshipped as God until about 300 years after the crucifixion. BTW: the Romans left their crucifixions up on the cross to rot as an example to others, so the part about him being taken down after 3 hours most likely did NOT occur.

Hi! Technically, all Christians are Jadaic, not Jewish (Jewish is the race, Judaic is the religion). Since Jesus was born into the nation of Israel, he was Jewish and Judaic. So Chrisitians are just Judaic people but whove come to recognize Jesus as being the Messiah, aka God who came to earth to save us from our sins : )

Because he was Jewish... is a Jewish and will always be a Jew. Why do other races believe in him? Faith knows no bounderies. Did you know that some people believe that he was not the hottie that they portray in all the illustrations, all blue eyed and light haired. Some believe that based on his geography, he was very dark skinned and had dark eyes...

You are mistaken , friend...
Many Jews did believe in Christ in his day and many today do also!
Are you aware that ALL the original disciples were Jewish?
Well...wasn't apostle Paul a Jew?
Hmm... you need a Bible lesson.
Start with Act of the Apostles.....if you REALLY want to learn.
