keep them moist and out of the sun. antibiotic cream, lanacane, aloe gel are all good thinks. Try not to use a lip stick or gloss. They tend to hold on to bacteria from recurrent use and increase the possibility of infection.

1. Keep out of the sun. Don't re-damage the tissue.
2. Ice
3. Keep hydrated.
4. Use chapstick, or other protectant to the lips.
5. Take asprin or ibuprophen. Both relieve pain and are anti-inflammitory drugs.

My husband was in a fire and got 2nd degree burns all over his face, neck, ears, eyes (lids and eyeballs, even) and of course, his lips. I literally smeared Polysporin ointment onto his face with sterile gauze. I swear by that stuff! He doen't have any scars. Polysporin has a new product that includes a topical pain med. I'd suggest that.

Yes - I use blistex cream for the pain and to reduce the swelling. you will need to use a sunscreen lipgloss in future.

I recommend using lots of chapstick! Plain not flavored or some aloe vera gel.
