Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the entire Bible is the inspired word of God.They hold to the Bible as a standard for all thier beliefs.
They worship Jehovah as the only true God(Psalms 83:18 Exodus 6:3
They believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God,the first of all God's creations, that he sacrificed his life for imperfect humans so that we have the chance to receive everlasting life, something that our first parents Adam & Eve lost.
They believe that God;s Kingdom is the only hope for mankind;that it is a real government;that it will soon destroy the present wicked system of things, including all human governments, and that it will produce a new system in which righteousness will prevail.
They believe that God's original purpose for the earth will be fulfilled;that the earth will be completely populated by worshipers of the true God and that these will be able to enjoy eternal life in human perfection;that even the dead will be brought back to life with an opportunity to also share in those blessings.
They believe that the dead are conscious of absolutely nothing; that they are experiencing neither pain nor pleasure, that they exist in God's memory,so hope for their future lies in a resurrection from the dead.
They believe that we are living now, since 1914 in the last days of this wicked system of things;that some living today will also see the destruction of the present wicked world;that lovers of righteousness will survive into a paradise earth.
They remain separate from the world just as Jesus commanded them to do.They remain neutral when it comes to politics or warfare against their fellowman.
They strife to apply Bible counsel in every aspect of life.
Regarding blood transfusions__
Christians are told to abstain from blood. It is a command from God himself.( Acts 15:29; Leviticus 7:27) If an alcoholic is told to abstain from alcohol, does thiat mean he can take it through his veins and that would be okay? Life is in the blood and we have no right to put anothers persons life force into our bodies. Our lives belong to God and he has the right to tell us what to do with it. If we stubbornly refuse to disregard his law on blood, then we risk losing our right ro live forever. Is taking a blood transfusion and ignoring a direct command from God worth it just to maybe prolong your life for a few more years? Some take blood and die anyway, from hepatitus and AIDS they get from bad blood. Because of our faith in obeying Jehovah's law on blood, doctors are now able to perform bloodless surgery on patients and not just on Witnesses. We have faith also, that if we die, Jehovah God will resurrect us back to life. God's laws are not to be taken lightly or ignored. They are for our protection and they insure us of a better future as long as we obey them.
The reason we do not celebrate holidays is because of all the pagan traditions connected with them. Every holiday when researched started from pagan origin. Some holidays, including Christmas where changed from a pagan holiday to a Christian one in order to convert pagans to Christianity.
We need to ask ourselves: "would Jesus or his disciples celebrate anything that was connected to paganism", what would the answer be?
I hope this helps you to understand our position.

If you want to know some of the beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses, you should ask a Witness. Or you may visit their official website at www.watchtower.org. On this Yahoo site, however, you will get all manner of responses and not a few will be mistaken. For instance, I have just read that Witnesses baptize people after they die. I am a witness. I can tell you we do not do that. I also just read that we believe that 150,000 people go to heaven. We do not believe that. The poster states that he learned these things from an actual Jehovah’s Witness. But he did not. Perhaps he misunderstood.
Some people believe Witnesses come to your door to convert you. That, however, is impossible, and this is not their reason for visiting you at your home. Again, I encourage you to visit the site above or to ask one of Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses.
But to sum it up, Jehovah's Christian Witnesses base all of their beliefs on God's word the Bible. They have not rewritten the Bible to suit their beliefs although this is a very common claim. They are perfectly happy to use virtually any Bible you desire.

I am a Jehovah's Witness whom the organization does not want as they do not believe in Acts 2:17-21 about in the last days, God will pour out his spirit and people will prophesy, and have signs on earth.
J.W. org.. says they are the only true Christians.
I was Catholic once also and they say they are the only true church.
If you read Revelation 2 and 3 you will see that Jesus counsels all the churches, and wants each one to repent from different faults.
I recently asked and answered two reports on blood, if you want to look it up. Basically allot they believe is true, but not the prophesies about the end times.
Holidays have pagan, not bible origins and true worshipers must worship with spirit and truth.
A group of anointed brothers got together in the late 1800"s and started bible studies, and eventually called themselves J.W's.
That would have been great if they did not set dates for prophesies, which did not come true. They are not happy with me either for telling them some things to repent over. Just read my posts, if u r interested.
Praise Jah!!
Hail Jesus earth's new King!!
Welcome his wife; the 'Queen of the Heavens"!!
Long story..happy hunting..

Some of their beliefs about the Catholic Church are that they don't teach an accurate knowledge of the Bible. They don't take blood transfusions or give blood because in the Old Testament it says that blood is sacred. It says in the Bible that when an animal is killed to drain the blood and not drink it. So they believe that they aren't supposed to give or take blood. They don't celebrate holidays because they believe that they are man made traditions for one. We are in the world but not part of the world. They believe that holidays take the focus of God and that the focus should never be off him. They believe that Jesus's birthday isn't really in December, it's actually in September and that why should he have to share his birthday with someone else meaning Santa Claus. They believe that because there was only mention in the Bible of two birthdays and they both ended in tragedy, that they shouldn't be celebrated and that the birthday cake was actually a tool used to worship the moon gods in history. I am not sure who the founder is. I have learned these few things from a friend of mine who is a Jehovah's Witness. I hope that this is helpful for you.

Hi,
Most of the answers above are NOT correct.
I will give you an overview of our beliefs.
JWs believe in the Bible
Gods name is Jehovah
Jesus is the first created "thing" and that through Jesus, as Gods chief agent and master worker, God created all things
There is no Hell fire. (Of pagan origin)
There is no immortal soul. (Of pagan origin)
Gods purpose is for mankind to live on earth under his authority.
Satan has been given a period of time to prove his challenge to God that no man will serve God because he wants to, that is why there is trouble on the earth.
God's due time is almost up until he steps into remove Satan
A small number of people (Bible says 144000) are to be taken to heaven to be kings and priests and joint heirs with Christ in Gods kingdom
The rest of mankind to inherit the earth.
The earth will be returned to the "paradise" conditions that God set out in the garden of Eden
The message that Jesus spoke about most was the Kingdom of God.
He commanded his followers to preach the good-news of the kingdom. (that is why we go from door to Door)
That no man or organization can save you; you must do that by having a personal relationship with God.
We can get a personal relationship with God and attain to salvation by believing in the Bible, following the example of his son, continue to take in knowledge of God and Jesus, exercise faith in the ransom (not just believing, works prove our faith) No amount of works will save a person, being obedient to the laws and principles as set out in the Bible, baptism,
We do not celebrate Christmas and Easter because even though they are loosely based on the Bible they follow pagan celebrations. We believe that it is vital that all pagan oriented traditions be eliminated from "true and acceptable" worship. (Most encyclopedias will give the origins of those celebrations)
We do not join any armed forces in any country
We do not vote for any government in any country
We are to obey ALL the laws of the land EXCEPT where they conflict with Gods laws (eg, war)
Those are the main points
Why do not have blood transfusions? Because it is our earnest belief to goes against Gods sanctions of Blood. Acts 15 details that it was an edict given to the 1st century Christians not to consume blood. If your doctor told you not to consume alcohol would it be OK it inject it in your vanes? The same we feel with blood. However we will do anything else to save a life. (you can find some interesting articles by doing an internet search for "bloodless surgery)
We feel that Peter was not the first "Pope", but that arrangement happened after Constantine some 300 years after Jesus. History shows that Constantine’s empire was greatly divided by religious differences, and in an effort to unit his kingdom, we had a summit that started to amalgamate the different religious ideas in order to unit his people
I hope I have helped

Jehovah's witnesses do not have their own bible, the new world
translation of the holy scriptures is as accurate as any translation
you can obtain, the reason SOME people like to say that the
witnesses have their own bible is because it was translated from
the orignal hebrew, and adheres stictly to the closest pronounce-
ation as possable.in original hebrew the divine name JEHOVAH
was used almost 7,000 times.most other translations have replaced the divine name with,GOD orLORD.therefore nothing
is removed or altered in the new world translation...but JEHOVAHS witnesses will use any bible you prefer, its basically
the same thing in all..its just that the NWT was written in words
and thoughts that are more understandable in our own language.

They rewrote the bible for themselves. They don't donate, nor recieve blood transfusions-there is a verse in the bible that says don't eat blood. They are a religous cult that doesn't acknowledge the Holy Trinity. They have repeatedly gave false dates for the Lord's return, last one in 1975.
Charles Russel founded the cult. And "judge" Joesph Rutherford was the second leader. He wasn't a judge, and he got rid of most of Russel's original teachings. They believe only 144,000 will go to heaven...the rest to "paradise earth".
This group is a serious cult. Don't join them at all.
The Holy Catholic Church has been around for 2000 years. It's real easy for new religions-500 years and newer) to bash them.

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that so-called "Christendom" does not represent biblical true Christianity. They believe that all of Christendom's churches are part of "Babylon the Great", the world empire of false religion.

All religions are wrong except the Jehovah's Witnesses, according to them, not just the Catholics. They don't donate blood or receive transfusions. I studied with them for a while, but not interested. They are too rigid - and if you do anything against their doctrines, you are disfellowshipped. I was told that one fellow was living with his girlfriend, and he was allowed to go to the Kingdom Hall, but nobody was allowed to speak to him. Can you imagine how that must have felt? All religions were started by man, so I don't believe in any of them.
