Who remembers all the newscasts, all the reporters, all the officials trying to tell the people of New Orleans to EVACUATE?
Who remembers knowing days, a week in advance that a hurricane was coming projected to hit N.O.?
Who are the idiots trying to blame the whites, trying to make a hurricane disaster a race issue?
Who thinks some people need to grow a brain?
Whose ready for African-Americans to get off their butts and stop whining for whites to fix things for them?
Who remembers that other races lived and died in N.O., and were left homeless.
It was a terrible Natural Disaster, not the whites fault, now isn't it time for N.O. to start donin something? To stop whining, stop blamin everyone else. In Florida, Mississippi and Alabama resident are off their butts helping, doing things, why do black people in N.O. want to sit and do nothing and complain nothing is geting done. Take a cue from the other states hit, help yourselves, clean up, re-build. Don't sit blame others & cry.

"I" didn't make it about race, I am simply responding to the upteen Q's on here from African-Americans whining that whites did this, it's white peoples fault for letting black people die and doing nothing. Yes I thought this Q out very well, but NO I did not make it about race. I am,tired of the idiots trying to make it a race issue.

And yes I am an American. One of maybe a MILLION that watched reports on TV of the people in New Orleans being told for a week that Katrina is projected to hit them, and that they had no chance because they are BELOW sea level, but they sat there only now to blame WHITE AMERICANS. I am only on of many tired of this. If you were a white American you'd be sick of it too. They need to grow up and stop making everything about race and START taking some responsibilty for themselves.

Love the comment from the mayor about New York being so inept that they can't even fix a hole in the ground. Don't mind the fact that he hasn't done anything to make the levies stronger in the last year. And how humiliating that he had to ask New York investors to come to New Orleans to revitalize the city after making that comment.

I'm sorry, but a city stupid enough to reelect someone like him deserves to swirl down the drain.

you're suitable. Mississippi even have been given screwed over via typhoon Katrina. yet, i assume each and every person seems to the worst of what got here approximately, and only factor to New Orleans. even although, if the human beings had listened some time past while, while the French advised them to not build a city down there, then there would not be as many issues as there are suitable now. yet i assume issues ensue for a reason. And stupidity will injury interior the long-run.

Okay...I think you should hear this from a BLACK person whose home in New Orleans was actually destroyed by hurricane katrina. We got out by the way. Blacks are not whining for whites to fix things for us. We're upset because the government has failed us. Some of us who simply did not have the means to get out were left by our government to fend for ourselves for 5 days. We're mad because our incompetant mayor and governor have failed to get us the adequate funding to rebuild our levees and city. Other races did did live and die in nola. Some mainly white areas like St. Bernard and Lakeview were completely obliterated by the floodwaters. But many of those people had insurance and even if they didn't they have the means to get themselves on their feet again. So.....don't start a rant about something you haven't really experienced.

Just watched 2 fabulous documentaries about Hurricane Katrina. One of them was about how prisoners got stuck in their Jail Cells with no one to take care of them and being left essentially on their own locked up with no water or food for so damn long. In another documentary it spoke about the same situation for those forgotten patients (many on failing life support) and staff at a hospital. It was frightening that in a country as rich as the USA the leaders gave so little a damn for poor people (not white or black but POOR people), for sick people and for people in prisons. It shocked and disappointed me that the level of inefficient bureaucracy that these unfortunates suffered under. And thats what we should be attacking the ignorance that leads to a useless government machinery, the predjudice that allows people who are at their most vulnerable to suffer when they must be the ones that we protect!

who thinks we should stop making it about race and make it about the cause? Katrina devistated everyone in New Orleans as well as the other areas it hit. People all over the world were affected and most of your post sounded intelligent and well thought untill YOU made it about race.

What I thought was ridiculous was all the people saying there was nobody coming to rescue them. Meanwhile they were shooting at the rescue choppers. If you were shooting at me I probably wouldn't want to come get you either.
