Leviticus 19:26-28
26Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.
27Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
28Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:31
31Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 20:6
6And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14
9When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
Now you have the information. What would an intelectual say?

It doesn't matter what an intellectual has to say, this is what God says:
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, WITCHCRAFT, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall NOT INHERIT the kingdom of God.
Nuff said.

If I correctly understand that the Biblical quotes you have chosen are your definition of the activies of Witches, then I would have to conclude that you know little or nothing about the Craft and its practitioners.
These quotes from the Pentateuch, or the first 5 books of the Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures, commonly called the Old Testament, (I believe the King James Version,) do not accurately identify, define or describe Witches or Witchcraft. So, since Witchcraft is not accurately identified in your holy book, how can it be a sin in your eyes?
As I recall from my bible studies of 10+ years, When the Christ was nailed on the torture stake, Mosaic Law was nailed up there with him; therefore, the quotes above - all taken from Mosaic Law - were made null and void with the passing of Mosaic Law and the Commencement of the Law of Christ.
Recorded in the Greek Scriptures commonly known as the New Testament, Christ gave the injunction to Love your neighbor as yourself. Is not a Witch also your neighbor?/

If we take the bible literally, cutting our sideburns and wearing clothes of 2 different weaves are sins. Why do people just skip that stuff when they use the bible? Why also is the smiting of Yahweh against non-jews skipped over? We need to consider that parts of the bible are people's own desires and needs projected onto god. Otherwise, we're in complete denial and need to resort to only considering the pieces we like.

Yes it is a sin. It is the ways of this world and satan. In The bible is says he's a jealous God and one of the commandment says that you shall not worship no other God before me. So, if u do witchcraft it means you are worshipping it and not God.

If you buy into the Christian Mythos the yes it is a sin. If you are one of the BILLIONS of people in the world who are not Christians then NO it is NOT a “sin”. If you people want respect then try to quit judging others and show a little respect.
Treat others as you would have them treat you…….seems like I read that somewhere.

Depends on what you believe. If you believe in the bible, then it says that it's a sin. But if you don't follow the bible, or believe in any god, then no it's not. Just remember, not every person in the world is a Christian, nor do they believe in a book written by men that may or may not have had mental issues.

This is all just more gibberish that modern day Christians tend to ignore.
What is funny is that they believe in this god that wrote this book, but then they believe that they can pick through and keep what they like... as if we humans are smart enough that we could edit "god's" writings. If he was all knowing, and created everything - then I think he could handle writing an instruction book. Don't you???

To be clear, then, since we are following Leviticus:
--are you cutting off the corners of your beard? God forbids it.
(Leviticus 21:5)
--are you keeping menstruating women apart from the rest of the community for seven days after their period? God commands it.
(Leviticus 15:19-30). Don't forget that after the eighth day after her period she must bring two turtles, or two pigeons to the high priest for sacrifice (Lev. 15:29-30).
--after any sin, are you offering an animal sacrifice? that is the main topic of the entire book of Leviticus, of course. Read especially Leviticus 6.
--are you putting adulterers and adulteresses to death? God commands it. (Leviticus 20:10-11)
--are you also putting to death anyone who cusses out his mother or father. God orders it. (Leviticus 20:9)
I could go on forever, but I needn't, because the point is plain:
You are selectively choosing which Leviticus edicts to observe and which to ignore.
And, by the way, the question of the sin of witchcraft really depends upon one's choice of religion, does it not?
But if your religion is based on the literal word Leviticus, boy, I sure hope you haven't shaved recently--because if you have, your faith calls for you to be put to death.
And no one should be put to death for shaving--or condemned for choosing Wicca or any other magical path for their personal religion by people who have made other choices for themselves.
(and it's "following," not "fallowing"--the KJV spells it correctly...)

Its all gibberish and should be ignored by Christians. The trick to the bible is knowing when to edit out the nonsense.
The old testament needs to be removed from the bible because it is Jewish law.

The asker gives several texts from the done away 'old testament'; thus one could agrue that the argument against witchcraft is 'done away'.
While I believe the new testament is also against witchcraft (Gal. 5:20), one should be aware of the weakness of the asker's assertion.
