Hi. I won't be insensitive. It usually takes about a month at the earliest and up to two years at the longest. If you are getting sudden, unexpected feelings or "messages" then there must be some urgency to the communication. It does not mean that things are wrong or bad. Life is a continuum and the loved ones on the other side are just fine. I am sure this question has to do with love. It is probably about a female who you love. It will be fine.

Let me tell you a story.
It is a story of which I have been wanting to tell for years and a story of which I have wanted to make a movie about.
(Oh, if only I could.)
In fact, I managed to make a little movie about it.
You can check it out here.
I would appreciate it.

To make a very long story short -
in 1997 my boyfriend died.
I had seen him just 5 days before he died and even then, miraculous things had started to happen.
One of them was as we were saying goodbye.
I kissed him and he turned to walk away but I had this overwhelming feeling to call him back.
I did and then I heard a voice in my head that told me - "GIVE HIM A KISS HE'LL NEVER FORGET."
So, I did and he turned away again, laughing.
I never saw him again.
He was dead in his apt. 4 days before anyone found him.
It was 5 days total before I even knew he had died.
However, the day he died I awoke thinking of him and suddenly longed to see him. I awoke at 7 AM, fell asleep and awoke again at 10 AM. I did this every day for the next 4 days.
I later found out, his Mother had been expecting him at her house that morning and had called him first at 7 AM, then again at 10 AM.
I had no reason to think anything was wrong, other than the fact his phone was off the hook and that was odd.
I felt I had to be near him, so I spent all that Sat. Sun. Mon. & Tues. hanging around his neighborhood.
I couldn't explain it then even if you had asked me.
That Tues. I felt him near me all day.
I saw his eyes in a stranger's face.
I felt him inside me, as though he was looking at me from within.
I felt the most glorious sense of lightness and of being alive.
I cannot explain the lightness. It was pure exhilaration.
Within that lightness, I felt how much he loved me and I felt what he felt. It lasted all day and all night.
It was the most beautiful thing in all the world.
I have not felt that way since.
The next day was the only day I did not go to his neighborhood.
In fact, I woke up that morning in stark contrast to the day before.
I was miserable.
The world felt black.
When I went to the store just to get out of the house, all the car alarms went off as I walked past the parking lot.
One by one. Every car I passed.
I knew something was up.
When I got back to my apt. I got a phone call from his sister telling me he had died.
Please check out my video.
It doesn't matter how soon the person has died.
I have heard stories of years passing. Sometimes it is merely days or hours.
Contact will happen in some form or another.
Sometimes even before...
PS - It should be noted I am spiritual, not religious.
Things like this happen regardless of one's religion.

This can be immediate, as at the exact moment of expiration or even before the human body's physical systems have completely given out and shut down. When my Grandfather passed, we were on our way to the hospital, but the moment it happened, I knew because I "Felt" my Grandpa pass away. He contacted me through dreams to let me know that everything was cool...But if the deceased don't contact you, regardless of how close you were, don't be dismayed...Sometimes they just have other things to take care of and time as we understand it does not exist in the realm of Spirit. I hope this helped!

Immediately. Before or as the spirit leaves the body. I never used to believe this before, until my sister died. My son was only 5 months old. I was at my mother's house that night, because she was babysitting as I worked. I went to sleep after feeding him, and about an hour later, he just started screaming. His eyes were still closed, no tears, and nothing visable was wrong. We calmed him down finally, and went back to bed. About half an hour later, the police had come to the door, and asked my mother about knowing my sister. She said I'm her mother. Is she alright? The officer just said, you'd better sit down maam. My sister had been shot. They had clocked her time of death at about the same time my son had been screaming, for no reason?
He had never done this before, nor since. He is now 15 years old.

There is no time limit for that person to contact you and know that the person is always in your heart and mind. My mom passed away and I was with her when it happened and I always feel her presence around me. I've heard different stories from people about how their loved ones have contacted them or let them know that they are still there. One person says a butterfly landed at the funeral and now every time that person sees a butterfly, she feels as though it is her father saying hello. I hear my mom say my name sometimes, especially when I am sleeping and she still appears in my dreams. The person may not do anything significant for you to know that he/she is there but just know that he/she will always be looking down on you and guiding you in the right direction.

Interesting and nice question! I believe it can be quite instantly, really. Whether it be by a dream or the actual spirit coming to you in a private area, it can be from the moment the person has departed from here. Or, sometimes several years; until the time is right, basically...
Hope I answered you! : )

It really depends on the condition of the soul upon death. If they feel that they haven't lived up to their all and there is more to life that they couldn't complete, then they may come back to finish these things which may include visiting a love one who misses them. When they decide to do so is their choice, but if they were content with their lives then they may never come back at all.

My friends son visited her regularly from a couple of days after he passed. He was studying psychic matters for a while before he died. I hope you find what you are looking for. You could try a reputable clairvoyant. Good Luck and God Bless X

its impossible to contact the dead and when you die they just put your body in the ground, there is not a recorded case in history where a person who died ever made contact with the living.that only happens on tv and the movies.but back to your fantasy world, well i would say they would try to contact you in about a day or two.good enough for you?

"Light always finds its way whatever it seems."
Trust it comes when it is time. Just a question of time.
Pay attention to synchronicities, to echos, to resonances, pray for getting signs & guidance.
Observe like a kid does, with virgin eyes.
Ask to be guided towards what you need to know.
Signs may seem faint and drowned into noises, but you can notice them anyway.
Remain rooted & grounded: that will improve the inner-connection, even though many ppl suggest to lose roots in order to "hear".
I think it is simply the opposite.
Trust but improve your discernment at the same time.
Make it simple.
---
Well, I have just written many key-words. I hope this will help you :-)
Somehow, it helps me too - maybe for similar reasons...
