I want to hear from people especially in the border states. How it has affected me: Being negatively stereotyped since I am Mex, illegals expecting me to be pro-amnesty when I gently remind them that they don't speak for me, sister getting in a car accident and getting no money from it therefore having to move out of her apartment just to break even, loud music 24/7 and the cops dont care cause some of them are paid off by the MM (Mexican Mafia), friend getting raped/impregnated by one and the kid will never know their true father, seeing neighborhoods filled with more and more trash the more illegals move in, having them steal your 2 year old pitbull and watch it die in a dog fight and you try to sue them but then they go back to Mexico, crash into your brick wall fence and skip the country before trial so YOU have to eat the costs, and the worst is, people across the country thinking it's a Civil Rights/MLK type situation and that illegal immigration is a victimless crime. You?

Your town sounds identical to mine. We have all the same problems you do. Murders in our town have skyrocketed over the last few years. Illegals actually cross the border just to rob someone then go back To Mexico.

Are you a mexican citizen, or an american-hispanic citizen? There's a difference, a big one. Which country do you call 'home'? If you're an american, you're fully entitled to be upset with 'bums rush' immigration. It has caused a lot of problems nationwide, and hopefully you'll help write to
Congress and urge them to act on the border. As far as a lot of people are concerned, the party's over. Mexico's had their 'fun' at our expense, time for them to fix the problems that cause people to be poor in the first place, like their economy. They DO have one, but it's dysfunctional, and needs to be fixed. It's not america's responsibility to 'carry' Mexico for all perpetuity.

My view is, illegal immigration is a symptom, not the problem in and of itself. Frankly, if Mexico was an OK place where everyone had what they needed, earned enough money to support their families etc., they wouldn't put a toe in the United States to begin with. Since they don't, or maybe because lax enforcement has opened up our country to all KINDS of opportunists, specifically those that benefit financially from illegal activities, we've got literally thousands of people a day coming across 'la linea'.
That has to stop. The border fence, all 2,000 miles of it, needs to be completed, plain and simple. After that's done, then they can start talking about visas, and amnesty, and the whole road-show.
But first, 2,000 miles of construction. It'll benefit the United States, AND it'll benefit Mexico. Maybe it sounds medieval, solving 21st century problems with 4th century solutions, but sometimes going 'retro' isn't such a bad idea.

Mexico could have everything it needed, were they simply to start some construction of their own, building roads, building schools, basically creating similar infrastructure to what we have in the United States. Street lights, sewers, it's possible to build all of these things. Schools, hospitals to care for the sick, all of these things are made by placing one brick atop the other, and if they can build massive resorts and other tourist traps, then they can certainly use the same technology that accomplished that work to further provide for their own citizens.

Mexico has problems. This doesn't automatically constitute an emergency on America's part. Their collective failure to plan, failure to build and think ahead, has resulted in a portion of their population being 'left in the lurch', vulnerable to crime, etc.
We can help, I guess, but we can't do it FOR them.

Mexican citizens DO have rights, IN Mexico. They need to assert those rights, and see to it themselves that reforms take place that put their country on a higher path that will lead them to becoming at least self-supporting, if not financially well-off.
Mexico's got mineral resources, they've got 'many hands' to make light work, I think most mexicans are basically decent people, but financial duress and other factors have created problems that have to be addressed through enforcement and mutual co-operation, and until that happens, it'll keep getting uglier. Good fences make good neighbors, and the sooner this one gets built, the better it'll be for everyone concerned.

I live in AZ I remember 20 years ago I didn't have to lock my car or my house. I have an Arabian Horse Farm and we are 30 miles from Phoenix..Now on a daily basis we have to ride the perimeter of the farm 4 times a day to keep out intruders. We have out buildings and horse barns, with expensive tack and equipment.Last year a $5,000.show buggy was stolen off one of my horse trailers while at a horses show in Tucson, the 4 men caught were illegals, they destroyed the buggy taking off the horse trailer .When we go out any where on the farm we carry side arms and rifles just in case we are attacked.Neighbors that breed black Angus cattle lost 2 breeding females ,that had been shot and butchered. There are many things that happen everyday.
My employees are all legal Mexican men from Chihuahua.hired for the states well known expertise with handling horses. I trust them explicitly, but we are all on guard 24/7/365 We post guards at night .That's just wrong to have to do that in an area that was crime free 20 years ago.

Unfortunately, it's not just the border states that are having problems. Most of the U.S. is experiencing what you described.
The sad part is that all Mexicans are being lumped in the same group whether they are legal or illegal. I am adamantly against illegal immigration but know some fine Mexicans who are here legally. I apologize for those who are not treating you as you should be treated.

I would hire illegals to do yard work as day rate but nothing else.
The hiring of illegals by a US company should be a first offense misdemeanor and a second offense felony punishable by mandatory jail time for the company owner...
Mexico's largest source of income is that money sent back to Mexico by illegals working in the USA. If these illegals were all deported, Mexico would collapse both politically and economically in a very short time. The mexican govt. and the US govt. are in a secret conspiracy which allows the US southern border to remain unsecured such that Mexico does not collapse.

I definitely agree with you. I live in Houston, where there are many illegal immigrants here. It has affected me because now i see job postings all around soliciting people for jobs in spanish but require the candidates to be fluent in english. That would discriminating to a hispanic person that did not know how to speak spanish! This is America! Its excellent to be bilingual but someone else language shouldnt be shoved down our throats! These protest are no where near civil rights protest in the 60's. Maybe if they protested in their own home country with the same vigor, then they wouldnt have to come here illegally!

I live in a border state. I would go to my mcdonnalds that i went to as a kid. I was the only white in there and the familes had 4 kids each so it would be too crowded to go. The mall wont accept checks anymore because so many have been bad. the city sent about 500,000 in the city a brouchure on water in spanish. It was 6 pages in eng and 6 in spanish. Thats a lot of gov waste. Texas illegals get in state tuition when our military people who were in iraq more than 6mths has to pay out of state tuition. Illegals get free p-k throu els when my child cost me 6000. The school class rooms are overfilled, which lowers overall task grads, so the feds threaten to shut down the public schools. Parkland paid out 22 million in health care to illegals which has to be paid by local tax payers because it was non emergency care and the hospital was so dumb to do that. My taxes are outrageous so I cant pay my own health insurance. A protest in dallas this year cost 400,000 for extra police and barricades for a pro-amnesty demonstration.

Yes, the stupid fools are going to try to take the border states and turn it into the Aztlan, a 3rd world hispano-ghetto. (If they take it over, who pays the welfare? Bad planning on their part lol)

Sooner they try for it, the sooner this business will be settled.
