There is a fine line between "rugged and messy" and "just plain messy." Be careful not to step over that line, and you'll be fine. Like the others have said, it definitely depends on personal preference.

Hell, I wouldn't care if it's messy, neat, or dyed like a rainbow trout. Just a man *having* a nice full head of the stuff is such a rarity these days!

some do, some don't. it's also a matter of your general style and looks, some guys look best with messy hair, on others it just looks silly.

Rugged and messy is extremely sexy, yes.
Too neat and orderly is boring and gel is just plain nasty, as we can't run our fingers through it.

I personaly hate long hair on guys.
