You need to avoid over processed products for example granulated sugar, white bleached flour, high fructose corn syrup (you have to read the labels, this product is added to items you wouldn't believe). Eat whole grain breads, whole wheat pastas, brown rice, fresh fruits, veggies, limit your dairy intake. Try the Sonoma Diet to get you started, it's more than a diet, it's a change in life style.

Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, not canned, or cooked. Lots of whole grains and fiber from cereals. Chicken, or fish cooked on a grill. Drink lots and lots of water. Also 100% juices such as orange juice, grape juice ,or cranberry juice. Avoid sodas, white bread, pastas, and especially artificial foods like Potato Chips, Corn Chips and other "snack foods". Avoid things high in saturated fats, and sugars.

The trick is in the variety of colors of fruits and veggies - reds, oranges, greens, yellows, etc. Guys especially need lycopene, I think it's called, from tomatoes and tomato products, for the health of their "man" parts. Cut out the white stuff, and processed stuff. Whole grains, man. No pop, booze, preservatives, additives - get used to reading labels.

A balanced diet is always best, fruit and veg etc although fats are important too. Protien is great for growth and repair, however lean meats are better.

a variety of food, you basically need it all--protein, fruits and veggies, carbs, a little fat. most nutritionists agree that the best approach is not to eat processed food (eat more natural foods), and to limit refined sugars and white flour
