I am 15 and i have a 30 yr old brother i never ment before becauz my dad devorced his mom and his mom got full custody and my dad had to give up all his rights becauz he was in the military, Well i wrote him a letter and today he called me! He said he would like to meet me, well now i am getting nervous becauz i want him to like me but idk how to get him to like me! I am really scared beacuz i dont want him to think i am a spoiled snobby brat, (his other sister is snobby enough) And he said we can go get something for lunch and supper but i dont want to waste his money so i am gonna go about that? Can someone help me? I just want to make him think i am perfect!

Don't try to make him think you are perfect, just be yourself! Just act natural and start to have a friendship with him. Go out to dinner, the beach, etc. - and don't feel bad about him paying for dinner he is an adult and there is nothing wrong with him paying. You could always ask your parents for some money to help pay for dinner or activities.

Listen up girl... like everybody else already told you, nobody is perfect... and nobody should ever try to be. If somebody was perfect, they'd wouldn't lead a very fun life, would they? Listen, I've given this lecture enough in my life, to know that the more outstanding you are, and your self, the better! You shouldn't care what other people think about you! If they are real friends, they'll accept you for who you are, and for your own unique talents. If they are family, (like your bro) they shouldn't even think twice on what to think of you. THEY ARE FAMILY for Pete's sake! They should care about you, and if you want them to like you, you have to show them who you really are, and don't be afraid to live a little. Try talking to your bro as if he were your friend. Be yourself, and he'll like you for who you are. If you try to be perfect, and you never admit your flaws, he's never going to know who you really are. So, go out there, and show the world, (or your brother) who you are, and don't fall back into the crowd. Remember being unique is a good thing, and even though it might be hard to admit some of your feelings, JUST BE YOURSELF!!! Do what you like, enjoy your life, and let your creative side out! The only person that can change your life.... is... well... YOU!!! If you just try to be different, and yourself, your brother will think of you as family right away! He's your brother regardless if you've ever met before or not. You definitely do not have to be perfect. Just the fact that you are his sister is perfection in itself. He will love you for you and nothing else. Let him decide what to do for you and with you. Give him the chance to sit and talk to you. Maybe suggest a picnic where you two can sit around and just relax and talk. Ask him what kind of things he would prefer to do. Obviously grown up things are out, but ask him what kinds of things he did at your age.

perfection may seem like bliss, but in the end it sucks a.s.s. Be yourself and try not to seem snobby though. As far as lunch and dinner, maybe for one you can make a nice meal at your house, and then either do the same for dinner or if you go out to eat then offer strongly and sincerely to pay your half, but don't push it too hard. See what he wants to do.

Nobody is perfect. It is normal to be scared when you first meet somebody. Act like yourself and be yourself around him. Your a kid and have no income let him treat you out to lunch or dinner he will understand. I hope your relationship with your brother gets stronger and stronger.

princess you are not perfect no body is but if you be your self than he should like you no body likes a poser(someone trying to be something they are not) and as for the money if he offers than tell him you dont want to wast all his money and if he insist than say ok and meet your brother he is an adult i think he can spare some cash for his little sister, bless you
