It is Clindamycin. I have been taking it since Friday, and I have to take it 4 times a day till it's gone so I'll be taking it till next Friday.

The problem is I get HORRIBLE heartburn when I take and it lasts for about an hour. It is especially bad when I lie down.

The info it came with says nothing about heartburn as a side effect, it says mild nausea is possible, but not to take over the counter medicine, so I don't think I can take anything for the heartburn.

Does anybody know anything about this, or what I should do? I've tried taking it with food, without food, with water, with milk and by itself; nothing seems to prevent the heartburn.

Check with your doctor. He might be able to prescribe another antibiotic that doesn't cause you heartburn. This website http://www.drugs.com/clindamycin.html mentions heartburn as a side effect, and suggests that you continue to take the medication as prescribed and talk to your doctor about the side effect as soon as possible.
Hope this helps!

Try taking it with crackers. Use 7 up too. Avoid greasy, fatty food and don't overeat at meal time. Many antibiotics and pain meds too can cause stomach upset.

I would reduce it or even stop using until the heart feel better if the condition allowed.
