If your aunt has lied to the police (making a false report), the courts or social workers, she could be in serious trouble. If she is considered to have contributed to the delinquency of a minor or engaged in any neglectful or abusive conduct toward the minor, it would be even more serious. The penalties for such conduct would vary depending on the jurisdiction. If your aunt is going to say anything publicly that might tend to incriminate herself, she definitely needs to speak to an attorney BEFORE she confesses to the judge.

She'll go to jail alright! She'll probably get a 6 month sentence in jail w/ 2 to 5 years probation. However, if the judge doesn't like her and is pissed off by her, she could get up to 8 years in jail in many jurisdictions. I have to know where she lives to give you a better estimate. I suggest that for your sake you have nothing to do with her ever again.

well false reporting aiding and abetting and if she would hide a child then she would run away with them so they may remand without bail.
