IT SEEMS LIKE NOW DAYS KIDS ARE CUSSING ALL THE TIME AND DON'T THINK ANY THING OF IT. THEY ARE ALSO FIGHTING AND SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER. WHEN DID THIS ALL START AND WHY? IF PEOPLE TREAT EACH OTHER THAT WAY, JUST THINK HOW THEIR CHILDREN ARE GOING TO TREAT OTHERS. IT'S SCARY.

hate is apparently kind of an addiction-people feel more powerful as they know someone out there somewhere may be feeling intimidated by the hate talk/action so that makes them feel more powerful in a world where they may feel powerless(lack of good job/any job/education/hope for the future/health/family /supportive friends etc) SO they get a reaction and that gives them the high feeling I guess. Then they may not have the capacity to sit back and quietly listen(requires one to stop talking) and learn about and from others. They become the "expert" and this gives them the position they may not have in their Little world. Also the feeling of belonging. If one can say, "Hey I'm on your team that hates that other team" one can feel instant acceptance which a human being craves. Learning about others and other cultures without judging is a more mind-stretching activity that requires one to be humble and open to new ideas. Hopefully more of us humans will go that route, but it remains to be seen if that will prevail or if hatred and destruction will be the order of the day.

Try other categories, the ones where people mostly help other people, or the ones that are specifically about fun and silliness.

This category attracts a lot of hateful people (not all of the people in this category, but the hateful folks are drawn here as moths to a flame), and over time, some of the less hateful get downright cranky over seeing the same gunk spewed over an over.

People tend to have strong feelings about things. The reason why it comes out so badly here might be because people go a little crazy when they have a forum where they can put out their opinions and still be anonymous.

I'm sure that if your boss/grandmother/neighbors could go online and see what you've been doing, alot of people would be more mild mannered... you'd see alot less hateful language, cursing, and probably most of the harassment would go away.

I've often wondered the same thing.I don't understand why we can't just give each other our opinions or thoughts without all the slurs, insults, and put downs over religion and races etc.It could be a lot of fun or a great learning experience. To bad we have all this ignorance, abusive and almost violent answers.
A lot of questions don't even deserve answers.

Not everyone in the forum is hateful, but there are enough to cause difficulties for the rest.
I am always amazed and sometimes shocked at the hateful comments I see here. But then, I remember that Jesus did warn us that the world wouldn't like Christians any more than they liked Him...and we see what they did to Him.
Oh, well...I intend to follow Him, anyhow, whether anyone else likes me or not.

All civilizations of mankind progress through developmental stages of growth and maturation . . . stages that are very similar to an individuals stages of human growth and maturation. (See "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs" at quick link below.) Yahoo Answers is a new civilization of mankind. It, too, is progressing through its developmental stages, beginning with the most primitive behaviors/feelings and cognition/knowledge. Hate is one of the primitive behaviors in very early stages of man or civilization. When the weaker, more fearful, more feeble-minded among us are stressed or challenged, they resort to animal-like viciousness and violence, such as cannibalism and human sacrifice. Next, there are brutal poles of domination and submission, such as slavery and concepts of "superiority of genes or faith or ways. Then, there is commerce and issues of greed and plunder. I enjoy watching how Yahoo Answers participants mature into greater souls. I, too, enjoy a broader mind and heart as I watch and learn on here.

You contribute your love, then hate will be reducing.
This world will definitely become better when each individual tries to become more virtuous than himself yesterday.
I firmly believe in this solution because I am contributing here my love to you, to all the believers, the non-believers and the doubters.

where else could it be ?
With this question you must be referring to something that you feel very bad about.
If you get to the bottom of that you'll have some idea of what hate is about. Just the pain of it makes you search.
