The arrogance of the Atheist. I like how they convince themselves that they are so superior, as if they have caught onto some con job the others of us can't see.

You do realize that in your whole question up there is absolutely nothing that you are claiming makes you superior.

1 Lazy thinkers - So far I haven't seen one of the Atheists here say anything other then "No There Ain't"

2 Quick Get Away - see number one.

3 Again See Number one.

4 Don't have the mental agility to play with what you believe? See Lazy thinking again.

5 Anti-Thinkers (snicker) And having the same attitude of intolerance and bigotry as any member of the Spanish Inquisition doesn't sound to you like "Anti-Thinkers"?

The same "open minded" community that tried to destroy Velikovsky like any witch burning mob of the dark ages. That took out Reich's papers and burned them.

Welcome to the "enlightened" times of the 21st century, when the priests of the new inquisition, with their humanist and atheistic anti-theology, attack and burn anything different from themselves.

Whoopeee.

Well you showed us how far you've evolved from the slime that bore the Domesticated Primate.

Hail Eris, All Hail Discordia!

Okay, buddy, let me tell you this now:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of for being Atheist?

Disadvantages:

1. You get to blame God for all evil and never mention the good.
2. You are highly ignorant, never thinking openly.
3. It can make you highly critical in the most ridiculous yet nasty ways.
4. It can speed up your stress rate from so much hatred all the time.

Advantages:

1. It's great for ignorantly nasty people.
2. It's also great for lazy people; all you have to is blame evil on God and never mention his good!
3. It's a chea-- I mean, GOOD way to mention something with no open sources whatsoever when you have nothing else to say.
4. Good way to get in this deeply wrong way of lies and hatred which you only believe is right because you're so narrow-minded. Therefore, you live happily thinking your hatred is all good.
5. It's a great way to provoke all the right thoughts at the right time in Christians and make them able to prove how wrong you are. Oh, oops, this would be a disadvantage now wouldn't it?

See what I mean? After all, you're only a strong non-believer-- what sources on Christianity and its people could possibly be right?

Advantages: always having someone to listen to you whether you are whining or celebrating.
always knowing no matter how much else is wrong with your world, God loves you.
Knowing no matter how bad you mess things up, God still loves you.
It allows you a way to comfort others in their time of need.
It helps you lead a better, more fulfilled life.
Knowing I have a place when I leave here

Disadvantages:
Having to defend yourself for your beliefs, when really nobody knows all the answers of the universe.
Not being able to choose your own religion without catching flack from someone who dislikes that particular sect

Atheist, here is what you need to know to set these dumb Christians straight?

1) Inform them of how brainwashed they are. We atheist believe in free thinking so if anyone doesnt think like we do then they are brainwashed. Everyone is allowed to think freely but if they dont choose to be an atheist it must mean they are brainwashed. Makes sense right?

2) Tell them that Christianity is at the heart of all evil. This is so true. Well, except for all of the wars like World War I, II, Vietnam War, Korean War...so umm better not bring up the topic of wars. Oh yeah, tell them that most of the people in our prisons are Christians. Of course, 99.9% of people in prision are there for evil actions have nothing to do with Christianity - but dont worry Christians are usually too dumb to point out these obvious things.

3) Slam them on their Bible. I mean it was written like thousands of years ago with a bunch of translations and by like 50 different authors. I mean it is just a dumb book right? So what if it comments on every element of human nature which is true today just like it was yesterday. And so what if there is a remarkable harmony with all the writers of the bible despite the fact that they wrote over many different centuries. Who cares it has practical relevant advice on every area of life from business to marriage to healthy living. And its irrelevent that the Bible contains many prophecies which have come true and are unfolding at this very moment. I mean other books have done the same thing...haven't they?

4) Tell the Christians that the world would be better without them. I know that every nation with a Christian foundation has prospered and gives great freedoms to its people compared to other nations. So what. And look at all the great atheist countries...well omm scratch that

Disadvantages of having faith in God:

Not having faith in yourself.

Advantages of having faith in God:

Never taking on responsibility.

For example: Ask a question with obvious bias and allow others, who answer, to take on responsibility for your opinion. Sounds like every religion i have ever heard of. The followers interpret and so follow their own opinion.

I shouldn't have really answered this. My bias is that i have an opinion, take on responsibility and have faith in myself. Think they call it being a free thinker. Kudos my friend, kudos.

And do you have scientific proof of this or is it your own belief.
Ah its a belief so you are another lazy thinker getting away from a debate.
You post a inflammatory question to make your self feel better than another person.

Tooth faerie tooth faerie does it offend you to hear tooth faerie?
Or should you even care? Does it cause you harm to hear tooth faerie? no. so why the attack? do you have some hidden thing for God?

Be free of your fear of belief and move ob to something that will better your life

Your premise misses a minor point...faith in God DOES involve much thought and research. Religious texts are used as authoritative references by historians, archaeologists, anthropologists, paleontologists. Many scientists are "God-believers" as well as are many non "God-believers", and each group arrived at their conclusion with their minds...

Your list of advantages/disadvantages doesn't take into account inner reflection, empirical data, and rules of logic. I would suggest using this forum to ask honest questions instead of advancing your opinion as fact.
