The American Budweiser was set up by some rip off merchant who worked for Budweiser Budwar (the original and tastier).
It therefore is not the king of beers

When Anheuser-Busch started brewing their beer in St. Louis, they were trying to copy the original Budweiser, brewed in the Czech Republic. That original (known today as Budweiser Budvar in most countries, and as Czechvar in the USA), was very popular with the royal families of Europe, so it was known as "the beer of kings."
The American company couldn't copy that slogan, so they just gave it a twist and called their beer "the king of beers."
Shows you the power of advertising, doesn't it?

Budweiser's slogan was originally the beer of kings but, somehow, someone mixed it up and the company chose to keep it.

It isn't.
Budweiser is vile.
Just for the record, it has no relation to "Budweiser Budvar" from the Czech Republic. They are two totally separate companies. The Czech beer is the real thing.

Beer came first from a small town in the chez republic and became famous when exported to the US and marketed well.
It was the first and therefore is the king.
You can still buy real budweiser (not american) and you can still visit the original town, spelt slightly different

the budweiser marketing department,
were down the pub, and they saw someone, who was just sick,
after drinking one of the rivals beers,
the marketers asked the bloke, who still looked drunk
would you like a bud mate,
the bloke turned to them and said
no budweiser im F@@king off beers
the marketing people misheard
the drunks slurry speech and
decided, what they thought ,
they heard the bloke say
budweiser the king of beers
would make a great slogan
so use it they did,

That is just a advertising campaign. They call themselves that as a add thing. It is up too you to decide who has the best beer that you like. Then to you that beer will be the king of beers.

Because it's not fit for a Queen, or even a Princess. It is only the King of Beers in San Francisco, where you can't tell the Kings from the Queens or the Princesses.
