Illegal immigrants are criminals. That's what 'illegal' means. Aiding and abetting criminals has always been a crime; it's nothing new.

Bush is the President, he doesn't MAKE laws, he simply signs for vetos bills that are sent to him by Congress and Senate. We have a system of checks and balances here. That's why democracy works so well. There are several reasons WHY Congress and Senate draft legislation. The main reason is because of lobbyists, who are paid by vairious groups with interest in specific interests, whose only job is to publicize and drum up support for their issues. There are many anti imimigrant lobbies in DC. If a senator or Congressman(or woman) wants to keep their seat, they have to go with the majority of the voters in their home district want to see done.
Hope this helps.

First off, the bill hasn't been passed yet.

Second:

I thought this country was built on the precepts of freedom to all. The first whites here were illegal immigrants, trying to escape persectuion. These poor people are doing the same! Remember those beautiful lines, "Give me your huddled masses yearning to be free." You can't judge people by race and job, you can only judge the individual. I bet some illegal immigrants are way better people than some legit citizens, and some are way worse.
