i want to hook my boys up with a desk more like a table for homework theres a nice one at ikea for $59.99 but my husband thinks we should just spend $20.00 on legs and make the top out of ply wood.but im afraid it wouldnt ba as smooth and sleek as the one at ikea. hes all about saving money,wich is great.but i just want a nice table that will last as well as look good.what should we do?

Tell him to stop being cheap! When his twenty dollar desk falls on the poor kids it's going to cost more than the forty bucks he's trying to save. Besides, Ikea's stuff is cool. Don't deprive the kids.

Yeah, he sure is all about saving money. I would suggest you purchase the desk from Ikea.

By the time you buy the materials and spend the time and effort, I doubt it will be much of a saving. There are good ways to save money, this is not one of those ways.

include th kids in the idea i aggree with them have them help you with making it and painting it if needed they will feel proud of the workman ship more
